Convenient to Eli Lilly Headquarters
Nice place and a very comfortable room. The only "miss" was that the water from the bathroom sink was always warm even with just the cold faucet open.

Charming but out of date
We had not stayed at this hotel before and should have known better when every hotel in the area was booked solid. While it may have charming details like real keys for guest rooms, I was turned off by the old furniture, dark bathrooms and extremely small elevators. It made me feel dirty not to mention that the close space between the front entrance and the valet drive, between the speed and what appeared to be carelessness of the valet staff I thought I was going to be ran over. I really do not recommend this hotel for anyone, way to expensive, not overly impressed by the service save your money many other great hotels in Indianapolis.

Disappointing
The lobby is very beautiful but the rooms are very small. The fitness room offers only a treadmill and an exercise bike. While the staff is friendly, nothing is written down to guide you to the hotel amenities. We had to call the front desk multiple times for information. We were looking for a nice weekend away but couldn't wait to leave the hotel. Our room was small, not very clean and not very convenient.

Great one time experience
It was a great one time experience. Good location, it's definately historic, which was a great experience I just personally prefer updated amenities and a pool. With that said nice to have staying at the oldest hotel in downtown indianapolis marked off the list!

Excellent Location
The hotel lobby looked very nice. The elevator had a funny smell however. The room was small and needed some upgrades. It had an appearance of not being so clean although you can tell housekeeping had cleaned the room. Plumbing was not good! It took five minutes of running the water in the shower to get it hot. Overall it served its purpose I needed a room downtown so that I could walk to everywhere I needed to go. Might stay again if rates were lower.

Good Location, Great Free Hot Breakfast
Though the Canterbury is currently under renovation, it appears that the bathrooms have been updated and the bed was very comfortable. Main drawback was the outdated television.
