INDY WITH A PLUS +

We were there for the Brickyard400 during the last weekend of July. Based upon my dearest friend's recommendation, I booked Best Western Crossroads because he felt this hotel would definitely be better than the one I stayed at last year. We were pleasantly surprised...everything was better. The front desk attendant, Debbie, was fabulous. She was so helpful, friendly, courteous, all round so very pleasant...she was our first contact with the Best Western and I can see why they have the word "Best".....she was..period. The room was very nice, better than I had expected. We usually stay in 4 or 5 star hotels and our penthouse accommodations aboard our cruises have raised our bar of expectations. This hotel's room was very very nice. I was not happy with the smell of smoke down the room hallways. We were booked into a non-smoking room but it basically didn't matter because the smell of smoke wafted into our room anyway. I would comment on as not well taken care of was the "tub-surround". There was visible mold in the certain areas. Hey...nothing that a spray of bleach couldn't handle. The room staff were quiet, demure and friendly as well. The pool was wonnnnderful. Sure, we could see the vehicular traffic beyond the wrought iron fence but hey...we were in a pool and they were sweating in their cars......we win!! lol Most times, we had the pool to ourselves...fantastic. We enjoyed 90+ degree temps at 9 p.m....what was the rest of the world doing? We were enjoying the Best Western. Yes, I would recommend this location. Slight detour off the main freeway I-70 but well worth it. We are coming back next year...you hear that, Debbie....see you next year!!

Not a Bad Hotel

Booked a king sized room; was given a double. Told the clerk, and he wasn't able to give us a king; [...]. Other than that, it was a good, clean quiet room with a microwave and a refrig. Free breakfast wasn't bad: bagels, waffles, cereal, boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee, bananas. Overall a pleasant stay.

Great State Fair Weekend

A long day at the State Fair ended with us checking into the Crossroads Best Western.[...]We found our room conveniently situated on the first floor and wow! The room was great and the king size bed was exactly what we needed after a long hot day at the fair. We are definitely making Best Western our first choice.

A short drive from the state fairgrounds and after all that hustle and bustle it was a pleasure to have so many dining options so close to the hotel all on one main highway in front of the hotel.

Very nice homebase when in Indianapolis!

We headed to Indianapolis for Brickyard400 yet again. This hotel was suggested to me by my dearest friend...what a great suggestion. We booked BestWestern Crossroads. It was a wonderful stay. From the reception person who was soo friendly, informative, courtesy, she was our first impression of this hotel and rightfully so. The room was very clean. I will say though, the hallways did have a musty odour and a strong smell of smoke. Being a non-smoker, I am very sensitive to the smell. Unfortunately, there were no smoking rooms down a hall off from the main hallway of smoking rooms so the odour eminated from under the doorways. It was not a good thing but we enjoyed our stay. From the very nice breakfast area to the delightful pool...we will definitely consider staying there again. For the price...a great value.

Lots of restaurants to choose from in the vicinity. But be careful when driving around, we got lost from one Washington Street to another...might have been the same one...but keep that GPS handy.

Indianapolis

I was in Indianapolis for a business meeting. The hotel was older and in need of updating. The staff was very good. Value for dollar spent was below at best. Hotel smelled of cigaret smoke, carpets were well worn.

What I expected

I was looking for an economical stay and that is what I got. I'd bring earplugs because the AC was loud and varied. The bed was somewhat uncomfortable. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Continental breakfast wasn't spectacular but was adequate. With the noise of the AC I never heard 465 which right next to the hotel.

Not a bad hotel to stay at for few days

We were in town for a few days to look at apartments since we are originally from IL. The hotel was a decent price for what we got. We had a nice continental breakfast that included waffles, cereal, danishes/muffins and biscuits and gravy. The only thing we were not crazy about were the beds..they were clean just not very comfy. They only had two pillows on the bed and they were small. So I would recommend bringing a pillow. Also the hallways smelled of cigarrette smoke but the room (which was non smoking) did not so there were not problems there. Everyone who worked at the front desk and the housekeeping were extremely helpful and friendly.

The apartment we ended up finding was near greenwood which actually has an amazing selection of shopping malls. There are at least 3 or 4 major strip malls with major name brands.
