The hotel was nice and clean but the in-room refrigerators (in both rooms we had) were absurdly loud rattling noisily all ... night long. I finally had to get up in the middle of the night and unplug it to be able to get some sleep.

Need to give a special attaboy to the staff, we arrived late on Friday and found our room was booked as a smoking room. This ... was a very bad thing as my wife has several allergies and I always take care to book non-smoking rooms. The staff was able to shift us to a non-smoking room (thanks to a late cancellation). It was a little noisy due to the proximity to the elevators, but we were happy overall.

The room seemed great,until about 5:00 am we started to hear a pump noise that literally went off every 5 to 10 seconds ... continuously in the wall near the bathroom. Don't have a clue what type of pump would be going like that, you could even hear it in the outside corridor.

The motel was excellent. It was clean, a great location, friendly staff and a great continental breakfast. The only thing ... that would have improved the stay would have been to have a hot tub. We would return there and felt that the cost was reasonable.

Out Hotel stay was great. We were in town for a ND football game. The location was about 20 minutes away from the campus, ... but very easy to find. The rooms were clean, hotel staff was very friendly. They also had a contintental breakfast in the morning. I only gave the hotel 3 stars because it was your average hotel room, but thats all we wanted. I would definetly stay here again for the next game.

Some sites classify this hotel as 3 stars, which it is not. There was only 1 person at the front desk taking calls, checking ... people in, and performing other duties. Could've used extra staff. She was on the phone talking to someone about how she should handle a customer complaining that the bedsheets havent been changed in 3 days. Get ready to be woken up at 6am by early birds heading down to breakfast since the building echos and has very bad sound proofing. The room decoration looked like something out of the 80's and linens could've used updating. Cold breakfast was very simple. Definitely not a 3 star hotel! We stay at hotels multiple times a year and rely on customer reviews. It makes me wonder who wrote all the super positive reviews before since this hotel was very plain, loud, and no frills.

We stayed in several hotels on this vacation and this one was my favorite. The rooms were very clean and spacious! There was ... a huge armchair with an ottoman in the room that was so soft we could have slept in it but didn't have to because the king bed was very comfortable! It literally took us only seconds to find this hotel off the interstate and there were several restaurants just across the parking lot. The only drawback was that due to heavy traffic and no sidewalks in the neighborhood you couldn't walk to the downtown area which was only about 1/2 a mile away.

Shining like a beacon in the night

The Jameson Inn-Elkhrt is right off I-90, a 35 minute drive from the Studebaker Museum and less than a 2 hour drive from ... Chicago. Knowing that we are light sleepers who are do not care for large crowds, loud people or unsupervised wandering children- we asked for a room to suit our needs and were courteously and promptly attended to- thanks for catering to our whims. This was quite the undertaking given that there was a wedding party and rugby team staying at the hotel that same weekend. The hotel's location provides many standard restaurant chains within walking distance plus many local eateries as well. The hotel staff recommended we try DaVinci's Italian restaurant, which turned out to to be the perfect end to our otherwise hectic day. Thanks to Jameson Inn for the exemplary service!!!

DaVinci's Italian restaurant- The garlic bread with amazing tomato sauce for dipping was the perfect start. We asked for seconds and the waitress cheerfully and quickly refilled- no hassles, no rolling eyes and no extra charge! Selected the Combination plate whichwas wonderfully filling! Manicotti, Fettuccini Alfredo and Veal Parmesan with perfectly cooked broccoli- simply amazing. Mama would be proud.

Good value, nice room, good location

I stayed here while moving my son into Notre Dame. The hotel is two exits down the toll road from Notre Dame, but really ... pretty convenient since it's beside exit 92 and Notre Dame is very close to exit 77. There is also a Jameson Inn very close to the Notre Dame campus, but it was not available for one of the nights I needed. The first room I was given had that "a smoker stayed here" odor so I asked to be reassigned which the receptionist did readily. The new room was great - clean, odor-free, quiet. I had worried about noise since the hotel is close to the freeway but it seems very well soundproofed. The bed was very comfortable and the room seemed to me to be furnished to a very good standard for this price bracket -- including a nice armchair and ottoman, a closet with a door (some chains provide only an open rail), desk and desk chair. The bathroom door separated the toilet and shower from the rest of the room, with the vanity/sink outside this door - nice feature if the room is being shared. There are several chain restaurants in walking distance from the hotel, including Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse and numerous additional options close by. I was mostly spending time at the campus so didn't check any of these. I had the hotel breakfast as I was leaving. It's similar that provided by other hotels in this price range -- OK, but not a reason to stay here. Wireless broadband connection worked well but seemed to slow down in the evening. The TV had a good assortment of cable channels (including four or five ESPN channels). The TV remote control in my room was erratic. I have stayed at several other hotels in the area and I feel that this Jameson Inn compares very favorably with those in value for money. This was the first time in several years that I stayed at a Jameson Inn but I would certainly consider this chain for future stays. I'd recommend the Jameson Inn Elkhart for anyone looking for good value in quiet, comfortable accommodation in the Elkhart area

Heaven after a long day on the road

We had stayed in Elkhart IN a week previously on our way from Cheyenne WY to Berlin PA. Unfortunately we did NOT stay at the ... charming Jameson Inn. On this trip we did and it was lovely, friendly, helpful staff, they welcomed my fur baby and there was beautiful grounds to walk her in. Breakfast in the morning was delightful, however, no eggs nor cheese nor peanut butter. I need a little protien so we ended up going out for breakfast :(

I was in town for Notre Dame's graduation ceremony. It was a decent drive, with easy access to campus. Only problems I had ... were relatively small...coffee pot was broken and the alarm on my clock wouldn't set. Hotel was very quiet, clean and comfortable.
