Great hotel
The hotel was "classier" looking than I expected, especially for the money. The restaurant had a good selection and great prices. The pool and whirlpool were nice. The air conditioning kept the room very comfortable. The only negative things were that 1) I was booked in an outside entrance room, but got one at the top of a short flight of stairs, but it actually turned out to be very nice and private there. and 2) I was told there were no refrigerators, even though other people I knew had them so I had to use a cooler. Very nice hotel and highly recommended.

Functional and clean
It was eactly what we needed when we went to our friends wedding. The hotel was very nice in the front lobby. The rooms were plain and a bit small, but were taken care of very well.

loved theme of entire hotel,
Quite nice. Came for wedding and reception. Seeing the window displays with antiques, looked for small shop that sold antiques. Loved the bakery. How about an ice cream parlor? Loved seeing the barbershop. The small personal items for sale could be one of these shops, antique or ice cream. Hotels can put small items in vending machines some where on premises. This Holiday Inn has such an inner theme, put something outside to reflect that same theme!

did not find brochures for surrounding area very plentiful. One big map offered, but nothing in brochures on wall, etc.

the room was very nice but there was a baseball tourament in town and the hotel was full of kids. could not get to the pool or hot tub.

Suggest you eat a breakfast across the street at Dimitri's. Incredible omelettes, fast and friendly service, even the toast was incredible! We were just there for the weekend, but whenever we go back, we will eat here again.

great location for the price
It was a great weekend almost nothing could have made it better. Staff was always helpful and location was close to everything we wanted to do. The pool area was amazing and clean, rooms were clean and the food top notch.

Unsatisfied
Unsatisfactory experience. When we arrived the bathroom lights didn't work, so they gave us the option of a handicap room or a room with 2 small beds instead of a king size bed. So we settled for the handicap room that had an older TV that was kind of fuzzy at times. It was Valentine's Day weekend, so I was planning on a romantic evening and they failed to mention that the hot tub didn't work. Since the hot tub didn't work we went back to the room to order a pizza from one of the big advertisements in the welcome book. The pizza place had been shut down for over 2 weeks. It also would've been nice to have a DVD player in the room and a continental breakfast. To top it all off the guy at the desk gave us a wrong number so we had 3 expensive local phone calls instead of 2. We then complained to the desk at checkout and all they could say was sorry hope you come back. We advised them that we wouldn't be coming back.

Nice for how old it is
Clean rooms and a lot to do in the pool/activities room. However, since the hotel building is old, the furnace was very noisy plus the walls gave out a rattling sound during the day. Overall, a nice experience.
