Rough
There was a very strong chemical smell in room. There were black circle things in the bed. and the bed was so uncomfotable. Plus they had kids screaming in the pool past 11P.M. Everybody was friendly as far as staff goes but, it just looks dirty.

Not a good experience
The staff was rude, our room wasn't ready when we arrived, and the bed was so uncomfortable my husband couldn't sleep. They didn't even supply shampoo! I realize it wasn't an expensive motel but we won't be staying there again.

Straight out of a Horror Movie
Stayed at this motel during Kentucky Derby weekend. Like all places, the price was substantially higher than their regular rate, and still cheaper than a Hilton (that's a sign that camping in a tent would be a more pleasant experience, and I am not a camper). Unfortunately for us, this was much more affordable than the other hotels and one of the few places close to the Derby that still had availability. The rooms are old, dusty, and dirty. My friends had another room that reeked of cigarettes - luckily ours smelled like dryer sheets, but maybe it was to cover up the smell of something I'd rather not know of. If you want to know what this place looks like, think of a horror movie...like Psycho (but dirtier with more stuff broken). Our bathroom door didn't close, the vents were covered in dust, and the carpets were sticky. I wore my sandals in the room and in the shower. The walls are paper thin and my friend swears she heard our creepy neighbors having some type of a tag-team session with an escort in the wee hours of the morning. Luckily I had already passed out due to the shock of being in a room like this. The only saving grace was that we found no bed bugs (yes, we did pull all the sheets off and examined the mattress, only to find tons of stains) and the sheets appeared clean. My friend and I knew better and brought our own comforter, pillows, and towels so it made the stay a bit better. The check-in staff was very nice. Breakfast was rather bare (cereal, instant oatmeal - they didn't have hot water in the area either, old fruit, a few bagels, and an expired twinkie)and I ate as less as possible for fear of food poisoning. The first night, my friends and I hung out at the hotel bar because we were too tired to go out. I did not look at the menu but my friends did and said they did a great job at making all food items unappetizing. The people in there loved to smoke and wear crazy outfits (great people watching though). Drinks were super cheap and there was karaoke.Would I stay there again? Absolutely not. Could I stay there again? Yes, I could - it definitely wasn't the end of the world and I'm sure there are worse places, although it's hard to imagine when you're NOT in a 3rd world country. Personally, I draw the line at bed bugs...and I would've slept in the car had I found any. My friends and I plan on going to the Derby next year...but this time, we're going to start looking much earlier on...I am confident there are much better places which cost just as much if not slightly more than this place and a gazillion times better.I sincerely hope this is the worse place I ever stay at. And after this experience, it will be a shocker if I ever complain about staying at any type of lodging ever again. All I have to do is think back to this experience, for me to be grateful that I'm no longer there.

Nightlife tip:
In Hotel
Drink at the hotel bar. Prices are super cheap...and it's just as cost effective to drink there than bring your own liquor to drink in your room. Plus, it's super entertaining.

problems
the door lock and jam did not work right. we repeatedly complained and were repeatedly promised something would be done. One maintanance worker looked at it, said he would be back, and that was the last of it.

nice place
Stayed in this room for 5 nites and when I left I could still smell smoke on my clothes Had to wash all of them when I got back home, even the ones that I didn't wear. I thought that I was getting a non smoking room. But not a bad place to stay. I was attending the Mid Atlantic truck show. Not that far from the convention center.
