Adequate, but depressing

While just short of dirty, the motel is definitely down on its luck. Room is dark and depressing. They seem to have some long-term tenants. Bed and bathroom seemed clean. Breakfast room and everything else seemed a little sticky. The upside--it's inexpensive, had a fridge, and as a single female, I felt perfectly safe.

Disappointed family!

Upon arriving we noticed that the hotel had recently been converted. The pictures listed on the website are not of the actual hotel which I stayed in. I called in order to complain about false advertisement because the pictures listed online had to have been from another hotel which I assume was much nicer than the converted hotel that we stayed in but was told I would have to wait two days to hear from the general manager about compensation. Once we checked into our room upon walking inside the room we noticed that it looks nothing like the pictures online and were very disappointed. The room was very old and run down from the torn and dirty mattress to the worn cabinets and end table. My tv was also a very old tube tv which began to make a loud screeching noise and soon afterwards began to smoke profusely. I'm pretty sure it would have caught fire had I not unplugged it from the wall. I called downstairs to complain about the tv and request another room which did not smell like burning plastic from the tv and was denied the switch. Instead another equally old tv was brought up at 1130 P.M. to replace the broken tv. Immediately afterward I pulled the comforter back in order to tuck my son in for bed and noticed the sheets looked as if they had been washed but needed to be replaced long ago due to permanent stains probably caused from blood or god forbid what other biologically unsafe fluid. I was forced to have my son sleep on top of the comforter and fold it in half as sort of a makeshift sleeping bag. My wife and I slept completely clothed on top of the comforter as well because the linen just looked over used and stained. This was a last minute booking but because of the pictures I was under the impression I would be staying in a modern well kept hotel and instead I was stuck in this old, worn, sad excuse for a motel. Once I was able to fall asleep I awoke to the constant chatter of the on duty maids outside my door and the overwhelming smell of tobacco smoke on the non smoking floor of the hotel. I went downstairs to get some breakfast from the intercontinental buffet that was advertised and was surprised to see only a waffle machine and juice machine which were both turned off at 9:00 A.M. I am not very picky when it comes to bargain hotels but this was the worst experience I've had and I felt very mislead by the pictures. I would not suggest this place to an enemy let alone stay here again myself. This was the epitome of slum management and mis advertising allowed by online booking agents. Hopefully I will be reimbursed for this horrible stay but if not it still gives me a little pleasure being able to save another family the disappointment we experienced.

plain room

This hotel is about as simple as can be. I was only there about 10 hours and I wasn't picky. It was not very clean but I slept just fine. The beds and pillows need updating but what do you expect for $58.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!

When I checked in and was walking to my room the stairway and hall smelled of marijuana! There was no coffee maker in the room which was listed as an amenity when booking the room. When they finally brought one I opened the filter part and there was an old, moldy coffee filter still in it and the pot was still dirty. I will NEVER stay at this Super 8 and maybe not any Super 8 ever again. Also, the remote to the TV did not work and had to call down 3 times over the course of a day before they even came to fix it.

Dirty Room

When we arrived we found our room was not vacuumed and there was dog hair everywhere, including in the sheets. It took them 2 of our three days stay to get the dog hair out of the carpet! The second day when they cleaned the room all they did was took out the trash. No clean towels or wash clothes. The staff was not very receptive to our requests. They acted like they didn't care about the guests.

Reserved two non-smoking rooms. Rooms had dirty smell. Occupants in room next door were smoking on a non- smoking designated area, also someone in room was smoking pot, i reported it to hotel manager, she talked with occupants. They denied all of it, and promised they wouldn't smoke. After about an hour, they started smoking again. We have a nine month old child with asthma. My wife had to leave the room with him and sleep in the other room we had booked with the children. I am very disappointed in this booking. I will never again book at this brand hotel again, nor will I ever book through this travel company.

So so

When I called to ask about a shuttle from the airport before I booked my room, the staff said that "yes" they had one and it could pick me up by request. But when I got to the airport and called for a ride, they told me that the shuttle was not available after all. I ended up having to rent a car and it was very expensive. Also, the advertisement pictures were very misleading online. Other than that I have no major complaints. The room was very cheap and very basic. The staff was moderately helpful. I don't think I would stay here again.

If you have a chance, definitely go to the Lake Michigan beach, it's beautiful, even in the winter.
