I am a business traveler that spends over $75,000 a year on hotels, flights, etc. This evening at the Hotel Baker was a getaway for me and my wife. It has been years since I have had such a poor experience at a hotel. The Hotel Baker changed that. Spider webs encasing the windows and views of garbage dumpsters. We tried to dial the front desk for a Sunday paper to be sent up to our room - the phone didn't work, so we used our cell phone. The front desk said that they had no papers and gave us directions to a gas station down the street! I proceeded downstairs to walk over to the gas station. As I walked through the lobby, I noticed a stack of Sunday newspapers!!!!! Service at the restaurant was slow. So slow in fact that the General Manager offered to buy me an after dinner drink. I took him up on it. My wife and I were very disappointed at their inability to correct so many problems.
