Just Business

The hotel could use a little updating but the price reflects that. It was good for the cost. We liked the historic feel and would recommend for the price.

Good Location for Abraham Lincoln Trip

Location is good for trip to Abraham Lincolm exhibits, you don't need to use your car, a historical site bus takes you to all sites such as the Lincoln museum, capital building, and about 10 in all. Bus stops at hotal. One negitive, you have to pay $7 a day in city parking garage next door, to park.

Business Trip

Visited the Globe Bar - Wait staff very friendly - Consider access from garage to hotel on the first floor without having to go "outside"

Very nice for the money.

We met friends and family for a family member's wedding. Most stayed at the Hilton across the street. We chose the PALH&CC to save $80 (on two nights). Although not as nice as the Hilton; definitely worth the money saved. Parking was 1/2 the price of the Hilton, too! Only complaints; the tub drained VERY slowly, 5" deep by end of shower, and "patched" carpeting on floor where apparently damaged at some time in the past.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Easy walk to all downtown Springfield attractions during the day. And we hit just about every bar within 6 blocks (maybe 8?) during our stay; highly recommend Floyd's Thirst Parlor (www.floydsthirstparlor.com) at 212 S. 5th St (about 2 1/2 blks away). The bar in the hotel was a "sleeper"; maybe 6 patrons at 11pm on Fri night.

great location, amenities and price

We were in Springfield to see "Lincoln Land" and could not have had a better location to see all the historic sites. The rooms were large and well kept, the restaurant very good. Would return without a doubt.

Great location, great choice

We were delighted with the helpful and friendly staff. They gave directions and suggestions to help us find the best way to spend our time in Springfield. The hotel lobby and public areas are gracious and tasteful, and the restaurants and bar are very good. We especially enjoyed a relaxing Margharita and a few laughs with the staff after a long day of touring. The rooms could use a little freshening, but were comfortable and a good value. We would return for another visit with a smile.

The Historic Sites bus stops at the hotel and can get you to any site you want or can let you see all of them and then choose where to stop.

The Abraham Lincoln Hotel

Had reserved a nonsmoking room, didn't get it. They offered an air purifier, but as bad as that room smelled it wouldn't have a helped at all. They breakfest brunch was so over priced it was crazy. The encluded breakfest at Comfort Inn the next night was much better and the room was $40.less.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Take time for the Lincoln Museum, Old State Capitol, and Lincoln Home. It's all in walking distance, well done, and gives a good review of Lincoln's life.

Great location to walk to the Lincoln museums, and several restaurants. The restaurant had an excellent, inexpensive breakfast buffet.
