Cold room, Breakfast not as advertised

The parking lot was overflowing with stickered new cars; they must be a dealer overflow lot. The front lot was full so parking was very difficult. From the outset the convience was modest. The room air conditioner was running, 57 in the room, 41 outside. The maintance staff was excellent and responsive, but why was this not taken care of prior to our arrival? We had upgraded to purchase breakfast buffet. The front desk called later to explain we only qualified for two breakfast vouchers. A bit of an offering miscommunication. Breakfast buffet was very good the next morning.

Good Hotel

August was our second time staying at the hotel with our toddler, and the thing we enjoyed the most was breakfast. The food was fresh, and everyday there was a different type of food. Thanks to all the staff.

Nice check-in, under construction 5/5/12

Check-in was very nice thanks to Roberto. Quick and helpful. Directions to local movie theatre were excellent. Lot's of construction underway and wife said she was up during the night due to loud partiers in the hall. I sleep like a rock so didn't hear them. Bathroom very small but overall neat and smart. Great location for where I needed to go in Winnetka.

Not a 4 Star hotel

This not a 4 Star hotel. The bathrooms are WAY too small, barely big enough for one person. We opted for the breakfast included, but if you choose something other than the buffet it will cost you more, but how much more is a mystery until you get your bill. The hotel breakfast choices are good, but not $45.00 dollars (without tip) for 2 people good. Does a 4 Star hotel charge for in-room internet? We have stayed in less expensive hotels with free interent included. The staff are very helpful and the rooms are clean. Location is good for our needs and the rooms are pretty sound proof.

Really Good One

Work brought me here from DC and my experience here was great! The staff was very nice and helpful. The receptionist at the front desk was so nice to offer me passes for 5 day free breakfast. This place offers some great breakfast. I can definitely suggest this place to anyone and come here again and again.

Good Business Trip

I traveled to North Shore for the first time and was a little nervous about being in a new area. The staff at the hotel were great in making me feel at home, providing info about the area, and making sure I had everything I needed. They went out of there way to make sure that I didn't miss anything. I was there on business, but the staff had suggestions for what to do on the down time as well.

A bad experience

We stayed at this hotel for one night after a show at Ravinia. We reserved a room with a king size bed. After going to our room, we discovered they changed us to a room with two double beds and did not tell us at the desk. What's the point of a reservation when they can't keep it. We overheard that they did this to several people since we had to wait in a fairly long line. We assumed that we got our king bed since they didn't say anything. You'd think with weddings, concerts and other events, they would have more than two people working at the desk. We found that our tv was not working properly. They sent a engineer to address the problem which ended in needing the tv replaced. The pillows seemed very used because they felt like they were just pillow cases on a mattress. We got lucky and found the spare pillows in the closet to be in better condition. There was hallway noise in the early hours but that is expected when there is a wedding reception or party staying there.

Excellent accommodations

The room and bathroom were spotless. There was Aveda brand bath products that smell wonderful! The bed was extra comfortable and we slept very well. It was very easy to adjust the temperature in the room and the air conditioning was quiet. Had a nice flat screen television with a great selection of channels. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was very easy and their was very little wait. The temperture of the water in the pool was comfortable, although the pool is on the small side it was well maintained and an ample supply of clean towels by the pool.

Easy to get to the Dairy Queen because you are off the Expressway and traffic is not as congested.

Very nice hotel

It's a very nice hotel, with all that you would expect in an urban hotel plus a free van shuttle to anywhere within a 5-mile radius, a very important amenity for a suburban location like this one. There is no public transportation to the hotel itself, nor is there a hotel bus at the airport, which leads to a hefty cab fare. The maid didn't show up to clean my room until 5 something, pm, when I was getting ready to go out, and I heard from other family members that they had experienced the same thing and gotten unsatisfactory responses to complaints about it. We had a late lunch in the coffee shop -- pretty expensive, but very, very good food.
