Good Place.
I would stay again. The beds were comfortable the room was clean. The shower was good. Breakfast was minimal but the hotel is close to Cracker Barrel.

Very small town but still fun for a weekend
Not a lot to do in town but if you're there with the love of your life it doesn't matter. The pool is kinda small even just for myself and the hot tub...was HOT! Still was a nice stayover...The bed was very comfortable. Definitely would stay again. Cody's steakhouse right next door was awesome.

Cody's steakhouse....great value and portions. Ask for a waitress named "Nikita"...very friendly and fun to talk with...

We stayed at this hotel twice and I was impressed with it both times. The rooms are clean, the pool is great for kids, the breakfast was good with enough choices for everyone, and the area was quiet. Will stay again!

There is a WalMart a block down, which was great. Also, there are two restaurants and a gas station within walking distance.

Nice Stay
My husband and i had a good time. we appriciated having a pool and hot tub in the hotel. it was nice after a long day in the heat! however it would have been nice for the pool to have a walk in staircase but it was still refreshing. the room was large enough and the bathroom was great. we would have liked a mini fridge in our room and sheets that stayed on the bed. in the end though it was a decent stay.

The hotel is good for short weekend stay. They were not prepared for the # of occupants, but managed the situation very well. Continental breakfast "good" concept. Would use again.

nice stay
We've stayed in a many hotels that claim to be "suites" this was on of the best by far. The staff was super friendly, decent selection for continental breakfast, indoor pool and hot tub were nice. However, there were so many chemicals in the water that it was hard to breathe in the indoor pool room. I understand they have to keep it sanitary but I think they could put a little less chemicals in the water and just provide more cleaning and maintenance to the pool. Everything else was absolutely top notch!

There is a steak house within walking distance from the Hotel. I was not impressed with it, I believe it was called "Cody's" it was a bit over priced for what it was. I also have to say that I tried the Alamo steak house and their steak was pretty bland and awful as well, perhaps that is just how they do steak in that area. Just don't order steak, get something different :) Unless you realllly like A-1 sauce

Baymont Inn & Suites of Mattoon, IL
I stayed at the hotel b/c I was doing a local athletic event. The rooms were clean, the pool is small, but clean & the hottub was great, too. Friendly, courteous staff. Mattoon isn't an exciting place . . . . but this hotel was surrounded by many other similar, but more expensive ones. This was the best choice for the area.

Good Value
The Baymont Inn & Suites is a very good value for your dollar. The hotel is very well maintained and provides the basics for a weary traveler. There is not a restaurant on site, but many a within walking distance and excellent options for food close by. Convenient to I-57 and Route 16 to Charleston.
