Super 8 Marion

Room was clean, quiet, & comfortable. Staff were friendly. Hot waffles for breakfast. Good value!

This hotel met acceptable standards. It's nothing special, but was adequate for an overnight stay on a road trip. It is an older property, but was clean and neat. The best thing was the staff. Both evening and morning staff persons at the desk were not just friendly, but engaging and cheerful. The breakfast was a bit limited in its offerings and the orange juice was actually orange ade. It does have a waffle maker and the usual run of dry cereal and bagels, pastries.

We asked for a handicap room but didn't get it which made it very difficult for my wife, mainly the low toilet. There also were no luggage carts at the hotel which made it rather difficult as we have trouble walking. The room was well equipted with a microwave and refridgerator., a very nice HDTV with good programming. The beds were very clean and extremely comfortable.. The room was a little small but sufficient for us. The water was hot and the room had a very good a/c. The noise from all the trucks from the adjacent truck stop bothered us a little but after awhile, we didn't even notice it. The breakfast in the morning was typical but it was also very fresh and tasty. The staff was very friendly. We will return on our next trip.

We stayed 3 nights here during SIU's Homecoming weekend and it was, overall, a good experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was pretty basic, but we only slept and showered in there so it was fine for those purposes. It was quiet each night and we really appreciated that. They didn't clean the room one day and that was the biggest downfall of the stay. The continental breakfast was very basic, but had some good, healthy choices. We would definitely stay there again.

This was our second stay at this Motel in 4 days. We were stopping in Marion for the night on our way back from the Chicago area and it seemed convenient to stay at the same Motel both times. We were on a budget, so we chose the Super 8 Motel. My husband asked for a second floor room for this stay and it definitely was a better room. The room did not have the musty smell that the first floor room did. The bed was comfortable again, although the A/C did not cool as well, it was okay, but we like sleeping in a cool room. Again, breakfast was sparse, but adaquate. If you decide to stay here, choose a room on the 2nd floor if possible. It is a budget minded Motel, you get what you pay for, nothing special.

Our stay at the Super 8 was fine, with one minor problem. We asked for a queen size bed, the room had full size bed. Location and everything else was good.

We decided at the last minute to drive further on our drive home and ended up in Marion, IL for the night when storms hit. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful but of course understaffed during the time we were there (late at night). We quickly needed a new set of sheets due to a spill from our child and it took a while to receive that due to 1 person being on duty at the time. It was bedtime so it was an inconvenience for us but we learn to deal with things like that because we have kids. The hotel itself seemed clean but had stains on the carpets that made it look dirty. We were glad to see a coffee maker in the room but our joy quickly faded when we realized there were no cups. Breakfast ended our stay and although it was a good breakfast (with a waffle maker), the lobby was extremely crowded and the wait for the waffle maker was long. With 7 people in our group, we took a while making 7 waffles and other patrons seemed to get upset at the wait as well.

Requested handycap access, arrived to find room on 2nd floor. Changed room to ground floor to find that the king bed was a double. no other available. Was not happy. No trash bags in cans, Limited soaps and shampoos. Room was clean and nice.

The room is nice and the bed is comfortable. Overall, it's a good choice. The weakness is the hotel is near the I-64. So it's a little noisy.

This hotel let us check in early- very friendly desk staff- clean rooms- quiet- nice quick continental breakfast with wafflemaker. I would recommend it highly and will probably go back again.
