the hotel was very clean even though there was some redecorating going on and the wind blowing so strong caused the plastic that was covering the window to be a bit noisy at times. The staff was very friendly; the front desk called approximately 45mins after we arrived to make sure everything was ok. The location was easy to find and the hotel is in an area where you really don't need to travel far for good food. They also had complimentary breakfast, free parking, a free newspaper @ your door every morning. The only negative is the whirlpool was being fixed and my wife and I were looking forward to spending sometime in it; aside from that everything was perfect.

Soon after exiting Interstate 57 the hotel is a very short distance and the restaurants are all along route 13 (westbound)

Don't get a room on the end
The room was decent, if small. [...] I asked for a room with a view of the baseball field, and they acted as if there were no rooms left in the hotel...on a Tuesday. After the first night I figured out why they didn't want to give us a different room: we were on the end, and every time someone went up or down the stairs the thudding echoed through the whole room. Otherwise, it's a fairly typical hotel in this price range: the rooms were clean if on the smallish side and the breakfast was cereal, fruit or Jimmy Dean breakfast biscuits.

Skip the neighboring 17th Street BBQ and head over to Mackey's Pizza. Try their bridge club pizza if you like olives and artichokes. We love 17th Street, but the original in Murphysboro is far better.

Clean, Comfortable and Convenient
It was nice to walk into a room that didn't have the smell of dampness. The temperature was set with the fan running on low. The room was spotless. Not just in looks (most hotels are) but it was CLEAN!!! The staff were very pleasant. We enjoyed our stay. We will return and we would highly recommend this hotel to others.

Business Trip
Nice clean place to stay. However, the rooms are cheaply made and you can hear the toilet flushing in the rooms near you. I could also hear people in the next room talking. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and the room was comfortable. I would stay there again. Also, once you get to the road it's on, look for the actual hotel. The GPS didn't find it.

Restful and quiet location, convenient to I57, however there was hair in the bathroom, also mildue around the tub

December Trip to Peoria
Hotel was very good value. It's location is about 1/2 way between our home and our daughter's home in Peoria. Great place to stop for the night.
