Close to Chicago
We needed to be in Chicago very early the following a.m. and would need to leave our home by 5 a.m. to do so. Staying in Joliet was close enough so that we could arrive at our destination in plenty of time and not have to get up at dawn! Good stop!

I needed a hotel close to an event I was attending and easily accessible to me from the airport. This hotel fit the bill. While an older hotel with somewhat dated rooms, the rooms were clean, the beds very comfortable, pillows wonderful. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was nice in that they offered eggs and bacon though the bacon could have been cooked more to my liking. There was also the standard yogurt, pancakes, toast, cereal, etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Pool and exercise room looked nice though I didn't use them. I stayed 2 nights and would overall recommend it.

Dimonds Restaurant is an excellent restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Reasonably priced, good menu selection. Also, there is a Barnes and Noble and a small mall less than 5 minutes down the street.

The good and bad
Our 5 day stay for our grandsons high school graduation had some good and BAD. The rooms were clean and comfortable. However, waking up in the morning was most unpleasant as we were right next to housekeeping. The housekeeping staff were noisy, inconsiderate, and rude. Loud talking in hallway, laughing, door banging. Our staff rating is low because of housekeeping and for putting us in that room since the hotel was mostly empty. I would have given this hotel a solid 4+ rating, but just couldn't give them above a 3 rating because of our morning nightmare. I put I would recommend this hotel, but with a big warning!

Very friendly place
The Holiday Inn Express had such a nice staff. In the morning during checkout the staff was very curtious and ask how my stay was. They made me feel very welcome. The room was very clean and quite bigger than most rooms. Overall, it was a very friendly and cozy place.

The mall is located just down the road and there are many other shopping places as well like Target (in case you forget something).

Holiday Express Joliet Plainfield was a great fast in and out weekend for our out of town guests coming for a Grandaughters Christening. Rooms extremely clean and neat , hotel employees so pleasant and accomodating,loved the complimentary Continental Breakfast someone constantly tiding up the breakfast area!
