Econo Lodge Gurnee

We had requested non smoking. THE FIRST ROOM THEU ASSIGNED US REEKED WITH SMOKE, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR SIGN SAID NON SMOKING. tHEY PROMPTLY SWITCHEDUS. mY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT, LIKE MOST MOTELS, THEY CLOSED BREAKFAST AT 9AM. iT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE UNTIL CHECK OUT TIME. oN THE PLUS SIDE, THEY HAD NON STICK SPRAY FOR THE WAFFLE GRIDDLE! wE PLAN TO STAY HERE ANY TIME WE ARE IN THE AREA.

This was the most unclean room I've ever seen. I purchased my own cleaning supplies just to tolerate being there. The air conditioning unit smelled like mold and mildew. The sheets were okay, but had burn holes in them (we were in a non-smoking room). The tub hadn't been cleaned in a really long time and was disgusting. Even after cleaning it, I still didn't feel good enough to use it. The sink was also dull with soap scum (one application of cleaner made it look a lot better--reinforcing my opinion that no cleaners had been used). The side table had dried on food and cup rings all over them. It smelled like stale smoke although listed as a non-smoking room. Yuk, yuk, yuk! The spider bites my daughter got from the spider that showed up the next day was the clincher.

the hotel servies was horible they didint have the room ready that i had reserved and then the last day i was there they had me switch rooms because somone had reserved it and the room they gave me had a bad ac unit with the room they switched me out of had a good ac unit and the key cards i was constenlty going to either get a new one or had to get it recharged becasue it was not unlocking my door i will not go back to this hotell agine i hated it

I was here for a graduation from Navy Bootcamp after a 10 hr drive. The room had a bad smell. The toilet was dirty. There were stains on the top blanket, sheet, and one pillow. The carpet was also gross. Other than that it suited its purpose for sleeping.

The room was dirty, there was a guy (maybe an employee of the hotel) with a very loud and noisy car and he kept driving back and forward day/night making a lot of noise; the worst part was my last day: "There was a party next door IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, I called reception to complain about it... 45 minutes later.. the same.. I just left at 3:05 in the morning. next time I'll pay 20 dollar more in Best Western.. cleaner and quiete nice place.

We had spent all day at Great America. The late check in was nice as we didn't need to leave the park to check in on time. Room was clean and provided a place for us to sleep at a resonable price. Nothing fancy, just basic. Would use this hotel again for the same purposes.

The Hotel is located in a lousy area. The rooms are extremely small. The mattress was dirty and stained. The Bathroom was like a small closet, to be able to shut the door you have to step into the tub.. The walls between the rooms are sooo thin you can listen to conversations. The pillows were soo thin that you have to double them over to get any support.

This was just a stopping place on a long trip. THe requirements were very low, and the Econolodge Gurnee met them. It was just a place to sleep. My first non-smoking room reeked of smoke, but the second choice of the clerk actually was free of smoke. This is a budget property, and expectations are necessarily low.

I arrived late, 10:30. Got to bed about 11:00, exhausted after driving & meeting all day. @12:30, woke to itching - BED BUGS!It was too late to drive around trying to find another motel so drove over 2 1/2 hours arriving home after 3:30a.m.Staff person at the hotel was very nice.It took 4 different people and a cut off call before I was informed that I would get a refund. I can't say I'd use [...] again due to the difficulty I had dealing with them after a really trying experience. I expected them to be much more accomodating and understanding.
