Under no circumstances should you stay here.
This hotel was an utter disaster. It is located behind a demolition site, difficult to see, and very sub-standard by......well, not third-world standards. Three simple examples: Stains of a questionable origin on the floor. "bodily" hairs (see 'curly') imbedded in the sheets (yes, I'm serious.) and the most magnificent amenity of our room was the security latch with the busted-off knob. Yes, I actually took photographs of all of this to dispute my pre-paid charge with the hotel. This property would be hard-pressed to get a AAA one-diamond rating. That would be generous. Let me also say that for ten years I worked front desk, night audit, and night manager of hotels ranging from a little two-star Holiday Inn property in New Mexico to the Five-Diamond Ponte Vedra Inn and Club in Florida. I don't screw with hotel staff for any reason and I'm not overly sensitive to a slightly dirty room. I was on the other side of the desk for years so I appreciate how hard the job is to make everyone happy all of the time. This, however, was pathetic. I was also quoted "You should have followed the rules and let us switch your room first" policy when I was put on a three-way call with the GM of the property. Poor lodging followed by poor guest complaint response. Thanks for the one-night credit of $40.21 for the inconvenience of having to pack up and find alternative lodging when in town for a wedding. If I was a hotel owner or manager and I ever allowed a guest to be rented a room with a destroyed security latch for any reason, I would hang my head in shame, not quote policy. I would suggest you borrow some of the security fencing around the demolition site in front of this property, ring it around this motel, and do the traveling world a true service by leveling the place and starting over.

great Value
We were a bit worried that the hotel was a lot cheaper than all the other hotels and it was the only one we could find with vacancies. But after all it was a travel lodge and in the Uk they have to be of a certain standard. The hotel was showing it's age and I was supprised that they were building in front of the hotel and we had a freeway behind us. We should not have worried. It was clean and friendly. The staff were pleasant we could not hear any noise from the surrounding area. Breakfast was a ok but for the price we paid I was happy. I would Be happY to use this hotel again.

"Great Value"
- The property is a bit aged, however, the rooms are clean. - The staff is always positive, well mannered, and eager to help. - The property provides free Wi-Fi that is generally available. - Free breakfast is a plus. - Several dining establishments are within walking distance (one general American, Japanese, and fast food). - One detractor is that the property is at least 5 miles from the highway off and on-ramps.

We enjoyed 6 wonderful nights!
As a couple, we spent 6 very restful, quiet nights, with service always available from a very friendly and willing staff. The long walk to rooms was difficult, with luggage and a "bad back", but understood doors to outside were locked to make the building more secure and that concern for safety of patrons was greatly appreciated. It was in a very convenient location to get to Chicago tourist sites and a variety of great restaurants.

We stayed at the baymont for one night, we didn t spend much time in the room, but the price was good for what we needed. The beds were good, room was clean, it s close to alot of food and shopping.

3rd-world hotel, in US
Hi, and nice to have this report. The hotel was not clean. The room's ceiling pain was peeling off in some area. The bathroom wall and ceiling had cracks. Sugar and coffee white were not there, and when called the reception, she had me to go get them form the lobby. One person was working night and day shifts, with no help for room service, and no supervisor around. The room, as the rest of the rooms where along and only 20 yards from a highway that run about 7 yards above hotel's ground level. All in all, it reminded me of guesthouses in Vietnam and Thailand, definitely nothing comparable to the normal motels in North America. I think the place could be shut down if complaint reaches the right departments.
