Wedding on the run! <3

My fiancé and I decided to go to the courthouse on Friday and get married then off to Galena for a small romantic get-a-way. It was perfect. We called and asked for a valley view once we reserved our room. Only mentioned we were going there celebrating our marriage and had a free movie rental with a congrats card and balloon on the door when we arrived! The studio was perfect for the two of us! Not recommended for families. Great view, 5-7 minute beautiful drive to downtown Galena, clean hot tub with fireplace, small kitchen, balcony with chairs, etc. I highly recommend this location. The staff was above par as well. Very friendly! :)

Great experience

We enjoyed our stay at the Resort at Galena. The room was clean and well furnished. The kitchen had all the essentials and the bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub and found the staff to be helpful and friendly. Our only complaint was that we could quite clearly hear the residents of the condo above us walking around and using the bathroom, etc. Not very good sound isolation if you end up in a 1st floor room. This was only noticeable when going to bed and early in the morning - since we are not particularly light sleepers, it wasn't a deal breaker. We will definitely stay there again if we visit Galena. It's a beautiful setting and only about an 8 mile drive into town.

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

Many nice shops along Main St. in Galena. We enjoyed good food from Gobbie's and Durty Gurt's and caught live music at Galena Brewery and Grape Escape. Really nice trip!

Romantic Getaway

Confusing name--Resort at Galena is also known as WorldMark Club Galena and Longhollow Point Inn. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this resort was. The studio unit was fully equiped with kitchen utensils, mini fridge & microwave, DVD, flat screen TV, & a beautiful spa like bathroom with large jacuzzi with a view of the gas fireplace. Very romantic. Murphy bed had a firm mattress but not uncomfortable. We will definately go there again.

A fold out bed for that price?

Lousy Murphy Bed for $120.00. Never slept so poorly on the road. I'm of average size, my girl is petite and the bed was a joke.

Great Experience

My husband and I love going to Galena to spend a quiet and relaxing weekend. Longhollow Point Inn is great! The bathtub is amazing and the 1 bedroom room has everything you could need for a stress-free stay.

A Condo NOT a Hotel

The bathroom was HUGE, but the shower was tiny. There was more than ample space left in that bathroom to add a bigger shower. Also, the bed was a hideaway bed that you had to pull down out of the wall. The only reason this was even necessary was because they felt the need to have a loveseat, arm chair, and coffee table in the seating area. Only two people can stay in the room so why 3 seats? If they would take out the arm chair they could have a regular bed with a much nicer mattress & end tables (which they did not have). Maybe that will take place in the rennovations they are doing now (summer 2010). And the rennovations weren't noisy to us, but we werent that close to any of the chosen rooms. Thats is for the negatives. Besides that the place is very nice. Try for an odd number room so you can get a beautiful view of the rolling woodlands. They have a kitchen with all the utensils you could need (even the things to cook stove top, no oven). There is really no need for the hot tub in the pool area since they have a HUGE jacuzzi in your room. The bed was comfortable, but like I said, a better mattress could be purchased preferably. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Also just a tip. This is not that close to Galena's downtown area. You are looking at a 5-10 minute drive, which doesnt sound bad, but parking downtown is a pain and many places are limited to 2-3hrs. If you arent planning on spending your whole trip downtown, then you should be ok, but if you want to do shop and that every day, this might not be the best place.

Cannova's has the best marinara sauce I have had in my life. If you are a fan, get some with your bread to dip it in. It's sweet and thick, not chunky. Hope you enjoy as much as I did!

Great weekend getaway

We had a very enjoyable time at the Condominiums - great proximity to Galena without being too close. Our only wish for the room was to have bed lamps for end-of-the-day reading.

Galena's attractions are well known. Don't overlook Apple Canyon State Park 10 minutes drive to the east, a small part with several rugged trails in gorgeous scenery.

Wonderful stay at a great price!

We booked the hotel last minute a day before we arrived and were by no means expecting what we received... Our 'studio' room had a fully stocked kitchenette, a jacuzzi tub, and a fireplace between the bathroom and bedroom so we could enjoy it in both rooms. The bed was nice, not as firm as most hotel beds I've experienced. The location, right outside Galena, was also perfect. It was right off the street that leads through the city but still away from everything else. I will definitely be booking my next hotel stay in Galena there!

There are two ski resorts close by, Chestnut Mountain and Sundown, and both are decent for the Midwest area. We went to Chestnut Mountain the day we checked in, and it was amazing to be able to sit in the jacuzzi in the room after skiing all day!
