Extended Stay America - Chicago - Downers Grove

The staff at the hotel was great, they were very kind and helpful whenever I had a question or problem. However the room was pretty gross. I found a bug in my bed the second night and didn't sleep the whole week I was there because the room just felt so dirty. There was hair in the bathroom! My room was non smoking but I could smell the smoke from other rooms. It's cheap, so you get what you pay for.

I was very disapointed with this hotel, you will think that for people staying in a place for more than couple days would like something better for the money, the room very old fashion, all the appliances very fillty everything very bad, garbage all over the place in hallways. staff very unfriendly. I never will go back to this hote again.

The overall experiecene was Good just make sure you beware of cigarette smokers who smoke in non smoking rooms!

Room was perfect for our trip. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location for connection to other areas of greater Chicago.

Everything positive review I read before booking was true. The staff was fun and helpful. The room was beyond what I imagined.

The pillow smelled real bad like body oder, when I called down to the front desk about it I was told I had to brin them down and they would exchange them for clean pillows and pillow cases. I had to get dressed to go down and get fresh pillows and they stilled smelled bad. I have asthma so I am very senceative to smells. I was in a non smoking room however there must have been a smoking room real close to mine because I kept smelling cigarette most of the eveing and early morning. This is not what I expected being in a non smoking room, you would think that they would not be placing smoking rooms too close to non smoking rooms. When I went to check out in the morning there was no one at the front desk, only a sign saying to use the lobby phone to call a certain extension to speak with someone. I was told to just leave my room key on the front desk. This is something I really did not feel comfortable doing, there is nothing preventing any one from picking up that key or any one elses for that matter and going to the rooms and perhaps trashing them, I would not want to be blamed for trashing a room when some one else did it. The rooms where quite they was no outside noise so they did have good windows that keep out street noise which I was greatful for. If I ever need to stay at a hotel again because of bad weather I will not use this one again and not sure if I will even use a different location. Respectfully Karen Haumann
