Not a bad place to stay for the cost. The RRI is in a nice location close to restaurants and a little shopping. Rooms are standard. Clean, but basic. Stay on the side opposite the highway for sake of noise.

The rooms are suprisingly pretty nice. The bathroom even had hardwood floor that I was really surprised about. Some of the appliances are really new but most of the decoration is pretty dated. (I don't care about that stuff though.) I was there alone on a Sunday night and it seemed deserted which made me a little uncomfortable. I was placed in a room on the first floor which wasn't ideal. But, I think it's pretty normal for a place to be desserted on a Sunday night at 9pm. The hotel staff wasn't friendly but wasn't rude either. Overall, I think it was a good accomdation for the $45 rate.

Good, honest value
Very comfortable, conveniently located, what every "budget" hotel should deliver, but so often do not. The workspace in the King rooms was very useful.

Nice hotel
The room was nice and very clean, but the bathroom fan was extremely loud. It was distracting even when I in the room and the bathroom door was closed. I told them about it at checkout and they indicated they would fix it.

Red Roof Inn had me wanting to get out
Do not take a smoking room. It was just terrible with the cig smell. The bed was broken and the sheets looked old

not good
A few things: (1) google maps directions to this motel are incorrect (presumably, they could have spotted it and have it fixed) (2) the toilet in my room was not working - flush, see the toilet overflowing (argh), close the valve just in time to prevent the disaster from happening (3) I asked for the wake-up call at 7:30... instead, woke up at 6:45 as the alarm went off (set up by a previous guest) (4) when I reported the toilet problem, the person at the reception responded with "Thanks dude!"... hmmm :)

Red Roof Deerfield Review
The room was clean. The hotel is near the facility that I was in Chicago to visit. There is an excellent restaurant within sight of the hotel. The hotel is also close to shopping areas. The staff was friendly. All in all, the stay was a good experience. It was comparable to other hotels in this price range that I have stayed in.

So-so
I know that Red Roof is a no-frills chain, but it still felt like a disappointment. First, the desk clerk wasn't unfriendly, but barely spoke and offered no info other that the bare minimum. There was free wifi with our all-inclusive king room, but you activated it with a card that was stuck in with the rest of our check-in stuff. He didn't point it out or explain how to use it. Second, the room had an off-odor. Not overwhelmingly bad, just annoyingly funky. It was late and I was traveling with kids, so I just got them to bed quickly and we got used to it. Third, the room was heated and cooled by one of those wall unit blowers. Very loud.

Good value
Reliable average motel. Wish it had a pool. Plenty of restaurants nearby. No internet. Good for quick in and out business stays.
