Hyatt Deerfield

We had a positive experience, but I most likely would go elsewhere in the future. Before I get to that, let me say the staff was excellent. Very helpful and courteous. Second to none. As for the rooms, they were above average for clean, just some fit and finish type things that I noticed could have been better. Paint peeling, threshold to the closet loose, that kind of stuff. The breakfast deal that came with our room was very good. The food was tasty and there was plenty of choices either from the menu or the breakfast bar. Another positive was the location. Easy access to major interstates and the train into the city were a definite plus. The thing that bothered me most and would keep me from coming back is simple. In a technologically driven world, I should not have to pay nearly the same price for a month of internet as I do for a weekend stay at a hotel. A change to this policy needs to happen, but most likely won't. Therefore, unless I was able to secure an amazingly low rate for the room, I would not return.

I choose this hotel because it was located in a quiet area yet within a reasonable distance to where I needed to go. Although under renovation it seems that it is nearly completed. The staff was always very helpful with directions and anything else I needed. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. I definitely would stay at this Hyatt again.

Our stay at the Deerfield Hyatt was good. Nice hotel but the room was a bit noisy as it was near a fan or vent of some kind. The resturant was just so so and not at all a good value. One thing really ticks me off about this and other higher end hotels and that is the charges for internet access and local phone calls. They think you won't mind because you are at an upper scale place - wrong! They charged $10/day for wifi, $5.99/minute for a PC in the Business Center, and $1.50 (I think) for a local phone call. These are free at low end places like Super 8 and Red Roof Inn. Take a lesson Hyatt- it's not the big things that always hack people off- it's often small things like beings screwed on WiFI and phone charges.

Great room, check in desk staff looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for stay more play more promotion from Orbitz. I was told to call Orbitz because they don't do those promotions which I did, and even after Orbitz called the front desk they would say they were not aware of it. staff when I checked in don't belong in a Hyatt Hotel (not even a smile or any intention of helping me with my questions) we felt unwelcome. checking out was totally different it was the way you should feel in Hyatt hotel.

I will cal [...] today to refuse payment for my stay since I was not able to sleep the second night due to excessive noice caused by a problem with drainage from the rain gutters and metal pinging right outside of my room on the 2nd floor. I reported to Hotel Management and they could not refund my stay since it was payed through [...] and not booked directly to the hotel. I have a hand written note from the Hotel Manager aknowledging my complaint that I will forward to [...]

I was in the area unexpectedly to visit a family member in the hospital, and the hotel was perfect - relaxing, classy room, nice pool, good breakfast. I appreciated the organic eggs!

I would definitely stay there again.

The front desk and staff were extremely friendly and helped with pre-printed directions to my dinner meeting as well as presenting me with a pre-printed card when I asked about going for a morning run. The card was about the size of a credit card with street names, distances, etc., printed on it to give me a safe way to get my morning run. I'e never seen this before so someone in marketing has done a great job of paying attention to the finer points often overlooked. Breakfast was also very good and prepared at a high quality.

The Deerfield Hyatt was a great location to travel to the chicago as well as being far enough away to have a great neighborhood feel.

The hotel was clean and well maintained. The room was very comfortable and a good size. The division of it by the entertainment center was a nice touch. The decorative furnishings were very nice. A little more space on the vanity might have been nice, but overall, one of the better rooms we've stayed in recently. It was located close to where our destination was and had easy access to all the other places we chose to go. I would have no second thoughts about staying here again. Two small points that would not keep me from staying here again. Definate chlorine/pool smell as you enter lobby. Even though pool is past front desk and down the hall, it is there as you enter. Free internet access would have been a nice feature. Definately worth the price.
