Mixed Bag--Good and Bad
Reception area needs new drapes. First floor- non-smoking area--still has smell of stale tobacco smoke. Showers are very good--no wimpy flow. Free breakfast had many selections including fresh fruit. Good coffee!

most horrible
the beds were hard, the air conditioner did not work. when i told him it was hot in the room and the air did not work he came and switched the on and off button back and forth and said there it is fixed and it was not. when i went and told him again after sweating for three hours he put us in another room that had just a full size bed instead of a king.

Not what I expected
I've stayed at Econo Lodge's before, but this one did not hold up to my expectations. The first thing I noticed was the smell - it was a non-smoking room (which was posted on the room door even) and yet it had a very distinct smoky smell - there was even an ashtray in the room by the phone! Secondly, simple advertized things like hair dryer, iron, and radio/alarm clock were not present in my room. The mini-fridge is nice, but it has a very loud, constant hum, and I had to unplug it overnight so I could fall asleep. In the bathroom, the sink stopper did not work, one of the lights was burnt out, and the exhaust fan did not work. The king-size bed was very flat and felt like the springs had gone bad - if you laid down close to either edge, you felt like you were going to roll off (downhill-wise). Wireless internet was nice, but the signal strength keeps changing constantly, even though my laptop is not moving. [...] Once you get used to the constant highway traffic noise, the hotel itself is very quiet. Finally, don't expect breakfast here - they have a breakfast area which has a waffle maker, toaster, microwave, etc. but when I came down around 7:15am, there was no food! Ironically the tables & chairs were put out and the lights turned on in the area, but that was the extent of it - no food, no plates or utensils, etc. So I guess McDonalds is getting my business instead...
