Nice, Convenient Hotel with Few Things Missing

The Allerton Hotel is wonderfully located. It is in the process of refurbishment due to a new company taking over. It was a nice room, quiet, in many ways a perfect stay. However, since I am not a coffee drinker, I asked 2 days in a row in there were any tea available for purchase. Each day I was told "no." Every morning they serve complimentary coffee in the lobby area so I couldn't understand why a pot of hot water, some tea bags weren't available. The lobby restaurant was also not open for dinner which was strange. A staff person said that they hope to remedy that soon. That's fine, but we experienced extremely cold weather in mid-November so it would have been great to eat indoors rather than trek around looking for a restaurant for dinner. Someone needs to get going on the refurbishments. Sharon Dardy

Wonderful Location at Affordable Price

The location was superb, especially for the price of the rooms! Yes, the rooms were a bit small, but we were out and about most of time anyway. The only complaints I had were 1) cotton balls/swabs were not provided in the bathroom and 2) the bed was too soft and my back was a bit sore after waking up. Otherwise, clean room, friendly staff, great location!

Warwick Allerton

Very prime location right in the heart of Chicago's 5th avenue district. We enjoyed the sites and shopping of the city all within a very close proximity of the hotel. Would definitely recommend this to all.

Location, Location, Location

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Warwick Allerton Hotel, Chicago. The location is approx 12 steps to the Magnificent Mile, and pretty much in the center of everything. You can easily walk everywhere. Chicago is fun and fabulous with great museums, parks, shopping, jazz and blues clubs, and MANY amazing restaurants and pubs (great holiday craft beer time!). We had ask for a complimentary upgrade as we were there for a anniversary celebration and we ended up in a tremendous suite -- very roomy, very clean; which was very kind and we were very appreciative. The rooms are a little older, but we felt it added charm. The staff was extremely nice, warm and helpful. Dilda, from housekeeping, goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable in your room -- truly a gem. The only reason for the four star on staff (I would have made it 4.90 stars) was the concierge was a bit gruff, not easily approachable, especially initially, But he did end being helpful to us in the end -- it'd just be nice if he'd smile. We would definitely return to this hotel -- if you're thinking about choosing this hotel, do it -- you won't be disappointed.

Local 22 was one of our favorite places to eat and drink!!! AMAZING food -- melt in your mouth Ruebens, Burgers, THREE different grilled cheese sandwiches to die for, and soups created daily by the owner/cook who does such a delicious job with his menu. He really takes pride in it and it shows!!! PLUS, the craft beers are INCREDIBLE (tis the season for unique holiday brews) -- this is a place well liked by the locals -- it's a MUST!!!!

Mediocre Hotel, but the location is fantastic!

I seriously thought I wouldn't make it to the Hotel in once piece from the airport since my cab driver was just a total jerk and one insane fearless driver. It doesn't help when there is a big lite up sign on the Chicago highway that says "696 deaths from car accidents within' this year. Please buckle up!" Sheesh, how comforting! Anyways, the hotel location is fantastic! In the middle of everything and getting to certain places is a breeze! Front desk are a bunch of super sweet people. You can tell they aim to please! Check in for me took not even 5 minutes! My room was located on the 22nd Floor. My my my, I felt like I was in sauna once I got off the elevator. It was so hot that even though the AC was running in my room I had to open both windows because the heat was radiating through the door into my room. A few people that was on that floor with me had complained they're room is warm even though the AC in their room is on blast. I felt as if the carpet in the room could've used some steam cleaning. It looked pretty dirty. Other than that I have no other complaints. The staff was sweet and the location was perfect. I guess that trumps everything else that is wrong with the place.

Even though the walk to the mueseum from the Hotel was a little over 15min, it was a great walk none-the-less. I enjoyed the site seeing along the way. No need to rent a car or to take the bus since EVERYTHING IS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE!

Great location and staff

Our four night stay at the Warwick Allerton hotel was fantastic! Prior to our arrival I emailed them inquiring about upgrade pricing because it was both our first time in Chicago, our 15th wedding anniversary. We were greatly surprised and very thankful to learn they upgraded us to a suite! Check in was a breeze. All the staff was very nice. If you forgo daily room cleaning you get a $10 credit towards food and beverages. That was a pleasant perk because we usually pass on daily cleanings. We ordered room service a couple times. The food was delicious and the prices were surprisingly reasonable considering it was room service. We did not find time to use the fitness center but we did visit it upon arrival. They have an extensive amount of workout equipment. More than most hotels. We peaked into a regular queen room while walking the halls one day and saw that previous reviews about room size are true. It may be advisable to confirm the square footage of a room before booking and if it is in the budget, go for a suite.
