Wonderful Historical Hotel

On my business trip to Chicago I received a little more than I had anticipated in less than a twenty four hour turn around. The hotel possesses a courteous and friendly staff-assisting with additional items upon request. The manager was able to provide a document that I required in less than ten minutes utilizing available resources at his disposal. The hotel itself was built around the 1920's which, if you are like me, added an exciting older feel to the trip. The location itself is centered in the heart of downtown surrounded by beautiful architecture and incredibly diverse restaurant choices.

Perfect Location

I chose this hotel for it's location and had a really good deal. Hotel was better than I expected. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel has free wi-fi, huge plus for me (some hotels near the same area charge you even for wi-fi) . Room was big for a double-bed room and very clean. I definitely will book again...

Good value

The Travelodge Hotel Downtown (Chicago) is well located (one block from Michigan Ave.), quiet, and provided excellent value for the money. The room and bathroom were a little small, but large enough. The matresses were very comfortable, the pillows a little small, and the shower was good. Coffee was available in the room, but breakfast was available only in independent restaurants - the closest (connected to the hotel) was a very spartan take-out with styrofoam cups and plastic implements.

I love chicago

I loved the travel lodge downtown. It had the perfect walking location to many buildings and sites as well as navy pier and a short cab ride to anywhere else. There was the summer dance festival going on right outside the hotel lobby. The Room Was a one bed with a couch a desk, free wifi, a decent bathroom, and a comfy bed. The staff was very friendly and the asia resturant thai spoon had a nice little bar with tvs. I highly recomend it to anyone and will stay there next time i go to chicago

Entertainment tip: Long walk from hotel

Not really a long walk as much as a nice one. In the Summer Chicago is bustling and beautiful very clean. Anyway Navy Pier Is great and I recomend a boat toar. On saturday nights there is the best firwork show. The walk also makes it worth it you will get to know the area well see plenty of architecture. Beautiful parks. The Bean and The Chicago tribune building are on the way. Look closely at the walls of the tribune. Trsvel lodge is on harrison leave the lobby head right to michigan the major road right there. Turn left and head down to Illinois ave its the corner the tribune is on! it can be missed easily. Turn right and head down the road and down the stairs and continue to navy pier. Visit the beer garden and Claim a reward!

Good Value

Very friendly hotel with a perfect location for enjoying Grant Park and the museums. GREAT access to the ?EL? and subway, plus the perfect spot to catch the bus lines. Not very fancy, a bit run down, but clean, and functionable. Make sure to upgrade to a large room for doubles, and make sure to be on the street side. (The back side rooms are a bit musty because they never get any sunlight.) We would stay here again.
