Amazing Location, but basically average.

This hotel was pretty dated and small, but we only needed to sleep and shower there. This was absolutely the best location for my first visit to Chicago. It was in the Lincoln Park area of North Chicago, and it had a lot of buses going through, which was very convenient, as well as a train station 1/4 mile away. Me and my friend walked everywhere and used the CTA every chance we could get. I would stay here again because it was much nicer than a motel and in a Great area.

Great Weekend Getaway in a Fantastic Neighborhood!

Neighborhood is wonderful with many shops and great restaurants! The hotel is quaint and historic. The rooms have been renovated, but are definitely not "high end." The bed was comfortable, TV was new, wireless worked well and there was plenty of hot water for showering. Breakfast is very basic, but free! There is zero street parking in the Lincoln Park area, so plan on taking a cab. It's a long hike to the "L." Unload your baggage before you try to park your car as it's a long walk to the ramp in the back.. You can buy an "in-out" parking pass for $22/day or pay $17/ day with no "in-out" privileges when you check in. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Do not stay in room 118 as it is right across from the ice machine! Also, don't stay in one of the very small rooms at the end of the hallways (426 I think). We'd definitely stay at the Willows again! Lots and lots of very well-behaved young people in the area.

Great Location!! Friendly Staff!!

My husband and I just got back from our trip to Chicago, and this was our first time staying at The Willows. The location was great! The room was a little small, but completely managable. It did get a little hot at night, probably because of the radiator heat. We were within walking distance to the "L", which was also nice. The continental breakfast was far better than a lot I have experienced. They had breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, toast, yogurt, a variety of cereals, coffees, and teas. In summary, for the price, we could definitely stay here again!!

Great place to stay

Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. Has a neighborhood feel and close to some of my favorite shopping and restaurant areas. Not too far from CTA so easy to get anywhere. Very reasonable price, quiet, comfortable, clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good amenities including free wifi internet in room, continental breakfast, coffee/tea available all the time, and cookies in the evening.

comfort, charm, and convenience

i dont know why this hotel didnt get a higher rating, all i heard were well deserved compliments by the guests during my stay,, the room was so cute and the decor was so charming and comfortable, the bed was super comfy and clean with bright white fresh linens,, the housekeeper took great care to keep it spotless each day, the location was perfect, walking distance to anywhere you need to go, or you can easily catch the train around the corner, hot coffee , tea or cocoa available round the clock, FREE internet, continental breakfast could have used a lil update with some fresh fruits but was a nice addition to the good rate they charge, parking might be a problem as you may have to park in a garage and pay but i was lucky to find a space that was free just two blocks away and didnt even need my car during my stay. i cant say enough good things about the staff, so personable and professional, especially JOHN AND CAREN, kudos to ALL THE STAFF there, i just didnt get all their names, i felt like i was leaving home when i checked out and will miss all of them lol. great deal i got here as a combo package with my flight, will definitely stay here and recommend to everyone.
