Great place to stay

This hotel was a great place to stay, especially if you are in the mood to shop. It is walking distance to Michigan Avenue and John Hancock Building. The staff were friendly and provided great service. They made excellent recommendations for breakfast and dinner locations. The best surprise was their high tech TV/Internet system in the room. The rooms featured Mac wireless keyboard connected to the HD TV for free internet access and access to Netflix movies (assuming you have an account). These rooms were very updated. It was a wonderful hotel.

The staff make this place

The staff were nothing short of amazing, friendly, helpful, all seemed to be in a good mood and very friendly (I know, I said that already) The ONLY drawback was the absence of a lobby suitable to just relax in and people watch. But the room was perfect (even with a bad view) Friday night at the hotel bar we were treated to two loud, intoxicated and vulgar women that the staff should have taken care of before other patrons had to complain. It's a little pricey but we'd definitely consider staying there again.

Weekend in Chicago

The Talbott was a nice place to stay. They treated us well. Reasonable walking distance to everything. Their staff was courteous and very helpful. The only problem we had the bed was not very comfortable.

VERY COMFORTABLE!

Only spent one night here, but a very comfy/cozy night it was. The most comfortable bed and pillows and linens we have ever experienced in a hotel. Only wished we had been given a room with a view... unless you call an alley a view. Pricey stay, but very nice.

Magnificent mile experience

Great location but limited amenities due to size. Food was average but bartenders were excellent. We had a parlor room and it was not a good floor plan. Television is integrated with computer and neither worked well as a result.

Les Clefs d'Or

The location of the hotel was perfect for us. The staff was equally wonderful. The cons of the room were the missing bed flat sheet (comforter and fitted sheet were present) and the pictures people on the wall in our room weren't our favorite. I also found wrappers and pieces of paper on the floor which made me suspect that the room had not been recently vacuumed, if the carpet had been vacuumed then there were major oversights. Pros: The amenities of the room were nice. We had a brand name single serve coffee maker, clock radio with MP3 plug-in, 42 in TV, Apple TV, wireless internet within our room, bathrobes, umbrella, iron and ironing board, toiletries including shower cap, and turn down service. The room also has a telephone in the bathroom, if needed. Other perks include access to a state of the art gym, which is great since a fitness center is not located within the hotel. This was the first hotel that I seen to have electronic do not disturb and room cleaning signs. The room is equipped with a doorbell so you won't be disturbed from folks knocking on the door. The elevators in the hotel are also efficient. Overall, the service that the concierge provided was instrumental in helping us explore and experience Chicago. The front desk staff and cleaners were also pleasant. Should we return to the area the Talbott Hotel would probably be our first choice of residence. The bathroom linen was plush, the beds are soft, and the rooms are comfy and spacious!

Perfect location

Perfect if you want to be in thick of things in Chicago, yet on a quiet street. Hotel is older, smaller, a bit like a London hotel. But rooms are big enough and comfortable. Staff is really helpful. Would stay here again for the right deal.
