Very Nice Hotel, Great Location

We stayed for two nights in late April, our first visit to this hotel in many years. With one exception everything was fine: the room was clean and very comfortable; the staff were competent and very welcoming; the location was terrific. We did benefit from an upgrade, even though we had booked their least expensive room. The only negative was that we had a bad experience in the restaurant associated with the hotel ("Little Market"). I had ordered Steak frites. The steak was alleged to be a strip steak, but it had more gristle than I've ever found in that cut before, and was initially undercooked. Still, there are plenty of other restaurants in the area, and maybe we were just unlucky in what we ordered.

Dont ever pay the room service person

A friend, Person A, orders food via room service. The room service Person B delivers it. A asks B if A pays B or just bill to the room. Person B says A can pay him. Person A pays B with cash along with a tip. When it comes to checking out on the tv, a $21 dollar charged to the room appears on the screen. We all go to the front desk, the hotel is NEVER notified that the bill was paid like it should have been according to the front desk. Paid double the amount for the food.

Fantastic City Vacation

We are very experienced travelers, and have to say, this was the best hotel experience we have ever had. From the superlative cleanliness, comfort of the room, ambience of the entire hotel from entrance, through lobby, and including the attached restaurant, this hotel is a standout. The crowning touch is the genuine warmth, professionalism, and kindness of each and every staff member we came in contact with. We loved the style of the hotel when the days of travel were for the elite; the old school hotel environment was pleasing, and our room, extremely quiet. We will recommend this hotel to any and everyone traveling to Chicago and will make a point of the Talbott being our go-to hotel the next time in Chicago. Why stay anywhere else?

Great getaway!!

Great staff! Fantastic location! No rental car needed here! Take a taxi from the airport to the hotel and everything else is within walking distance. Just get a quick tutorial from the concierge on the shopping and dining, and also on the transportation, the L train and trolley stops and that's all you'll need. Right off the magnificent mile, plenty of shopping and dining options within walking distance if hotels. A great place to stay!

Great honeymoon stay

We had a great stay at this hotel. The hotel made us feel really welcome, and made our stay even more special by upgrading us to congratulate us on our wedding! The staff were really friendly and helpful. We got some great tips for restaurants and bars. The location is excellent, close to the main tourist spots.

Very Pleasantly Surprised

This was my first time at this hotel. I was very pleasantly surprised. I received a complimentary upgrade. The room was very large and comfortable with excellent amenities. The location was close to the shops on Michigan Avenue and the bars and restaurant of Rush Street. An excellent hotel and an excellent value.

Great little Spot

I have stayed at the Talbot pre and post their renovation. The staff is super friendly and highly competent. My room was spotless, with a comfortable bed, fast free internet, a good desk to work from and a nice TV. Talbot is a great value especially if you want to stay up by the Michigan Ave Shopping area. The only knock it that there is no Blow Dryer in the bathroom.
