Excellent Stay
Great customer service. Very attentive staff and not pretentious at all. The location could not have been better...a few blocks from the Hancock and Watertower Place - very convenient. The hotel is quaint and cozy and the rooms are well appointed. Overall, a very nice place to stay while in the city.

Beautiful Hotel, Great Service, Loved It
The service staff were professional and very courteous, yet personable too. The room was lovely and spacious, nicely designed and very comfortable. I had to work a day from the hotel and had a lovely desk and chair to work off. I used the hotel's free wireless network, which was a bit spotty, and not particularly fast (they have a 'professional' option which will cost you a bit extra). Having stayed at the intercontinental not far down the road, we much preferred the Talbott. Overall the hotel has an old world charm and romance.

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
This is a 'money saver' too - The subway (red line 'Chicago' stop) is very near, as well as zipcar if you are a member. Chicago is fairly sprawled and cabs quickly add up, so we took the subway one day to Wicker Park/Bucktown, and Zipcar another day to Lakeview.

Great Location
We enjoyed a peaceful night at The Talbot on the night before Valentine's Day after visiting several bars listed in "Chicago Mazagine's" 100 Top Bars. We were able to check in early to a deluxe king room - large bathroom with double sinks and a large sitting area. Started out at the bar at The Four Season's, our favorite, their pork belly flatbread is great, then onto Eno, a wine, cheese and chocolate bar at the InterContinental, where we enjoyed their olive taster and one of their many cheese plates, The food prep young woman was great! Then walked over to Rebar, at The Trump, no sets available, then down to Le Bar at the Hotel Sofitel! We ended up back at the hotel - great beds. Ordered room service for breakfast - wonderful start to Valentine's Day!

The bar at the Four Season is a favorite everytime we go downtown. You can park at the parking garage at the 900 Shops and get validated for several dollars off!

The Talbott Hotel
The location allowed us to park our car and walk to nearby restaurants and shopping. Upon our first step out of the car, we were made to feel like we were special. Courteous staff, helpful concierge, gave us restaurant suggestions that offered the best food we have had (and we dine out frequently). The rooms were spacious, the bathrooms were beautiful and well supplied. We did not use the fitness center, so we cannot comment on it. We would not hesitate in recommending this hotel to others and we will always go back to The Talbot.

Great Stay, Expensive Parking
The service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and super helpful. The room was great. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom in the Executive king suite was amazing! The view on the 10th floor was basically looking into a buildling across the way. Parking was $48 but allowed in and out. Overall very very satisfied.

Lovely hotel, Perfect location.
This is a charming hotel, right by the magnificent mile, close to shopping and the Art Institute by cab or 20 minute walk. The concierge is very helpful. There's a good restaurant that supplies room service as well as in-restaurant dining. The staff is very accommodating. WiFi is free. My only criticism is that our room faced a wall. We could have moved to a king-bedded room for the same price with a view to the front but my friend and I preferred our own queen beds.

A wonderful hotel that has it all!
This hotel is a fabulous place to stay and enjoy downtown Chicago. For us the location is perfect. Our church is two blocks away, but the proximity to shopping, restaurants, and all the other things Chicago has to offer makes it an excellent place to enjoy the city. We are planning on coming back next month.

extremely pleasureable
We were very impressed with the hotel and the rooms and the location. Usually when staying in a city you hear much noise at night however being in such a busy area, the environment was really quiet. I cannot wait to return. Good work Talbott Hotel.
