Wonderful experience

I have travelled quite bit on business over the years and this was our first vacation trip to Chicago. The Talbot was ideal. Great location, very clean hotel, beds were comfortable, and the entire hotel staff was great especially the extremely knowledgeable concierge people. The location was within walking distance of most places we wanted to see. I would highly recommend for either business or vacation.

Like a little bit of Europe

We arrived a bit early so the staff took our luggage while we met friends, ate and shopped. When we returned, the receptionist apologized for not having our room ready earlier and upgraded our room. We didn't expect that...but really appreciated it. The room was lovely and spacious. We love the Talbot as it reminds us of european hotels. The neighborhood is great...as is the location. We will be back!

A great place to stay in the heart of Ch

The Talbot Hotel was one of the best places I have stayed in Chicago (I have been there about 10 times). Rooms were very comfortable, staff was great and the location to the Magnificent Mile was with in 2 blocks. Check in and out was a breeze.

lovely hotel with a great location

my wife and I stayed to celebrate my 54th birthday. primary reason was to attend Phillies/ Cubs games at Wrigley Field. We found the location to be excellent as we walked to great restaurants and shopping & was close to subway to Wrigley Field. the consierge gave us personalized and excellent service. Room was excellent and very clean with an excellent view. we will stay again at the Talbott when we visit Chicago again. We usually visit Chicago every few years.

Great Location

The hotel was very nice, but we did not spend very much time in the room. If you have ever been to Chicago you will know what I mean. There is just to much to do and see.

Excellent service, location, & discount

We booked this hotel after looking at many other ones. What sold us were the discount price for a hotel rated best travellers choice. We visited a lot and hopped on trains, buses, all easily accessible. We forgot some toiletries and went to walgreens around the corner. Decided to climb the Hancock tower, just two three blocks away, and eat breakfast at some very quaint bagels/pastery places. Rush street is right there, as well as state and Michigan's Magnificent Mile were closeby too. It's outside the loop though, so if you don't like metro/bus I suggest another hotel, but then again all of Chicago tourist areas are widespread. I'd recommend this hotel. But, not unless I got a discount again (normal prices are a little high).

Buy the CTA 3day/7day passes. Travelling all around Chicago is a must if you want to see the best stuff. The passes save you a lot of money and can be used on train & bus.

Ditka's was excellent....my husband had the meatloaf...it was mouth watering...it was a tower of delicious...everyone stared as it was brought to the table. I had the fish & chips which was sooooooo good. Then we drove to Al's Italian Beef in Little Italy OMG it was too die for ( it was on Travel channel's "Man vs. Food") you could take a cab if you didn't want to drive...it was 12 minutes from our hotel.
