Boutique-y, green and cozy.

Have to keep our non-profit expenses down and to do this without losing quality is a challenge. The Talbott Hotel is just my speed. As a conservationist, the green aspect is very important to me and well done at this hotel. The room was comfortable, the staff was responsive and warm, the ambience was charming and welcoming. Located centrally for my meetings and functions, eliminated any need for a car in the city.

The Talbott,but...

The Talbott lived up to all the advance billing, save for one item..."Room Size". The amenities were lovely, never experienced a nicer more helpful staff anywhere. The Consierge Team never failed us, and sometimes were able to get us little "extras" with dining reservations. The location absolutely could have not been better 1 1/2 blocks to Magnificent Mile Shops. Three blocks to subway. Surrounded by bus routes Good solid eateries within a block or two (more coming) However we did get to peer into other rooms, seemed twice as big as ours. The room was very nice, but lacked the size and more of the "heavy" older charm. No question would stay here again, only has to be a larger room..

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

ask the consierge o suggest someplace close by for both inexpensive and moderate dining. Better to see how your $$ flow. Oh,of note, "Pizzanos" for deep dish pizza is good, what makes it more interesting is the WWII era bar its in. Al Malnatti's is superior.

Excellent smaller hotel just off Michigan Avenue

We have enjoyed staying at this hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and the location can't be beat for convenient access to the sights and shopping of the Magnificent Mile. Rooms have their own Mac computer for planning, email, and just to check on the weather. We plan to stay at the Talbott again this year.
