Terrific location!!

The Talbott Hotel was perfect. We wanted to stay right in the middle of the city within walking distance to shopping and great places to eat and thats exactly what we got. The staff was very nice. I had read some reviews on the rooms being small but ours was just fine with everything we needed. We didn't have a good view from our room but we didn't need it. Chicago was such a friendly and clean city. We had a great time and if we go back we will being staying at the Talbott again.

Lovely Experience

My visit started with an upgrade to a one bedroom suite which was delightful. The suite had iTV which allowed me to watch a steaming movie from Netflix which was a great way to end a long day. I needed to print something out each morning for my day's work. They let me send it to the front desk and had it waiting for me each morning. Staying at the Talbott was a truly pleasant experience.

Very nice hotel, would stay again!

We went to Chicago for a concert but strolled the city for a couple days while there. The Talbott was perfectly located to see the sights on Michigan Ave as well as visit the quainter areas on Rush and State Streets. The room was very nice, everything very clean and well kept. They provide a Mac connected to the TV to use while there, so web surfing to find nearby attractions was easy. I didn't even need to connect my IPad to the free wireless. We had a great time and would stay there again. [...]

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

For Sunday brunch, we walked to Table 52 (as seen on FoodTV). My wife had the somewhat famous Fried Chicken and Waffles and I had Oatmeal with a Cinnamon Roll and Handcut Bacon. It was all fabulous. But with some drinks (Bloody Mary which was not very strong and a Mimosa), it ended up being over $100. The most expensive breakfast we've had, but we would do it again.

Talbott

rooms were stately but extremely small. Had a cute canopy over the head of the bed. Bed was very comfortable. Had a distinct smell of smoke when you entered the front doors. Staff were friendly

Great Hotel

The Hotel was very nice. I had stayed at the Talbott prior and had enjoyed it then too. The room was extremely nice and clean. The linens and bathroom towels were the nicest I had seen in a hotel. All was top-notch. Also great location to Magnificent Mile.

Business and fun weekend

The hotel is located in a wonderful area. Close to about any thing you want to do in Chicago. It was easy for me to walk to the Merchandise Mart and Husband to get to the expressway to do his work on Friday. We enjoyed walking to dinner and shopping on Michigan avenue. The people at the hotel were very warm and helpful.

Welcoming Hotel personnel

Would give 4.5 stars -- thought it was pricey for the size of the room. (But, maybe I'm out of touch with Chgo rates: it has been awhile since I've traveled there.) Was in Chgo for Lollapalooza and this is not a traditional hotel to book for such an "outing." Nonetheless, the hotel staff was great, and showed a real interest in our well being. On the last night, we came in REALLY muddy and wet and I thought someone might ask us to leave. Instead the night manager joked that it looked like we had a great time. Room was nice -- turn-down service was great and staff was always there to help. Room service is VERY pricey; but there were no problems with having Chinese delivered to the hotel for us to bring to the room. FANTASTIC location in my favorite city. Blocks from Water Tower and the north end of the Magnificent Mile. Great restaurants and shopping all around. A VERY lovely stay.

Quick Trip to Chicago

We had to make a quick trip to Chicago to pick up relatives from the air port. The Talbott was a great location and classy. We were within walking distance of the five major touring building and 28 minutes from O'hare. The room service was great and our room was always neat and clean when we returned for the evening. We were a little disappointed with concierge, they did not have a quality map to show us around and did not have a bus route map available.
