Fancy old style

We were there for a weekend conference. It was ornate and stately. The staff was friendly and helpful. The décor is dark and dated, but nice.

Better view and cleanliness would made it a 5

Could have been cleaned better. We spent 5 nights and I don't believe the carpet was vacuumed once. Bathrooms are small, however restocked daily. If we would have spent more time in the room I would have asked for another room with a view of something other than the brick building. Mercado Fish restaurant was good with excellent service. Elevators were a little slow but not bad considering small hotel amenities. Would return.

Another Wonderful Stay

This is our second stay at the Talbott Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also created a welcoming atmosphere that was appreciated after the flight and taxi ride. The room was clean and well maintained. The cleaning staff did a great job and the turn down service is a nice touch. The hotel is on the north end of the miracle mile shopping with some close dining around. We look forward to our return sometime in the future.

Perfect location!

We really enjoy the boutique style hotel and the personal attention they offer their guests. The Talbot Hotel is in a great location. Pretty tree lined street. Different from the huge austentacious hotels on The Mile. The Talbit offers that makes you feel like a special guest. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. We didn't have a great view at all, but that's what the outside is for. When in Chicago, you must be out and visiting all the sites. The location of the hotel is in a great area (Gold Coast). The subway is 3 shirt blocks away and extremely easy to get to and from Chicago Midway. There are countless shops and restaurants within walking distance. When we go back we will stay there again!

The Water Tower building offers a food court like no other. Located on the 2nd floor, you can dash in and grab a quick bite (and a glass of wine or a beer at Foodease) on your way to many attractions Chicago has to offer!

Perfect!

Loved The Talbott! Perfect location: near the north end of the Magnificent Mile, close to Lake Michigan, with easy access via the "L" (CTA) north to Wrigley Field and south to Soldier Field. Everything you need is a short walk away: restaurants, shopping, nightlife, tours. A wonderful boutique hotel with the friendliest, most attentive staff. The service was outstanding. Will definitely stay here again.
