Landmark in the Loop near attractions and shopping
It's only fitting that this historic hotel is just a few blocks from Jewelers Row given its name and former purpose. In the 1890s, its tenants worked in the jewelry and silver trade. Today, landmark elements -- a cast iron staircase, terra cotta touches -- give the Silversmith Hotel Chicago a unique architectural identity. Ideally situated near the Magnificent Mile and Millennium Park, the Silversmith Hotel Chicago appeals to budget-minded travelers seeking quick access to Chicago's most popular attractions.Highlights
- One block to the Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park and State Street shopping
- 24-hour fitness center
- Free high-speed Internet access throughout the hotel
- Dining at Ada's Deli & Restaurant and cocktails at the 14 Karat Lounge
- Historic, independent hotel with Arts and Crafts style
Rooms
Rooms and suites at the Silversmith Hotel Chicago serve their purpose, providing comfortable beds and a place to freshen up in between sightseeing excursions. The hotel’s 12-foot ceilings add dimension, while 10-foot picture windows view the city and the El. Wood headboards, desks and Prairie-style lamps complete the casual look. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the property.

Great time
The Silversmith Hotel is perfectly located right in downtown Chicago. It's small, so the views from the rooms are not great, but that was not a top concern for us. We could walk everywhere we wanted to go - shopping, the beach, the parks, the museums - all of the top spots are easily walkable. The staff was very nice, the room was always clean, and it was very quiet - we were not on the train side of the hotel though, so that could make a difference.

Do the City Pass for all the site seeing spots - if possible, order your pass before you go just to save time in line. Then once you are there, the time saved not waiting in lines is priceless, not to mention the price savings in admissions.

Great location
The Silversmith is the perfect spot for any Millenium Park area activities. There are plenty of interesting restaurants in the area and, if you're good, maybe your significant other will indulge you with a "trinket" from Jewelers Row! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Good stay
Staff was exceedingly friendly. Unfortunately, they were understaffed that day, and I waited an extra hour after check-in time to receive my room. Waiting area was spacious, comfortable, and had free WiFi, though, so that was nice. Rooms were nice, comfortable, had a fridge. Abundant coffee shops, eateries, FedEx, copy shops, CVS pharmacies nearby within walking distance for convenience.

Excellent Value in the Loop
I've stayed here twice now, and will certainly stay here on future visits to Chicago. This is a clean, friendly hotel with decent amentities. The room wi-fi (complimentary) works well, the fitness center is small but adequate. On my most recent stay I was upgraded to a suite for free - a nice touch. This is a very convenient location, and good value for the money.

Perfect location, great price
Great location near public transportation and Millennium Park. Clean, quiet and cozy. Rooms aren't super modern, but I'm the type who prefers clean and affordable to ubermodern and expensive. Our suite had a nice sized fridge and the Jacuzzi bathtub was awesome. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, too.
