Just a room

The hotel was nice and you can't beat the location. On the negative side my room had broken glass laying on the floor by the bed and luckily I didn't step in it. I spoke with the front desk the next morning and they didn't care. Also the walls are thin and you can hear the neighbors

Great piece of history

I loved the charm of this historical hotel. Guests mingle in the lobby and the layout is perfect with exits to wabash and state where there are shops less than a block away.

Great Getaway.

Went with five friends for a bachelors party, wonderfully located, and with great amenities the Palmer House made a stunning home base. The lobby is to die for. My one complaint is that the pool area could use a little sprucing up, but aside from that the hotel was an amazing choice.

Very nice hotel

The hotel was really kind of neat. Look up some of the history on it. The history is what sold me and i wasn't disappointing. The rooms were a tad smaller than i would have liked and our view of a brick wall wasn't ideal but it wasn't a deal breaker. My only issue is that the staff was somewhat impersonal. They were helpful enough but kind of cold towards us. The location is great! Right next to a train station and right in the middle of all of the major tourist attractions, very easy to get around. We didn't order room service because it was pretty pricey (18$ for a hamburger), but the front desk was helpful in finding different restaurants that delivered and there are many great places to eat withing a block or two.

Disappointed

Dinner at Lockwood was great. Room service delivery was great. Building is beautiful. Everything else.... way sub-par. The bed and pillows were so uncomfortable - I woke up every hour. Breakfast/Coffee (room service) was barely diner quality. For the price/value.... I would never recommend staying here. Come in, look at how gorgeous it is, eat dinner, and then stay somewhere else.
