Great location
The palmer house is nicely located within walking distance to many of the great places in Chicago. I stayed on the executive floor, which had its own lobby with plasma TVs and complimentry snacks and beverages. The room was kind of small but nicely done. The king size bed was defiently the best part, very comfortable! In hotel dinning was very good, a little upscale and pricey. My stay I was completly satisfied. I would defiently stay here again!

GREAT LOCATION FOR BUSINESS OR PLEASURE
The Palmer House Hotel is centrally located in downtown Chicago. Check-in was professionally and easily completed. The hotel staff was knowlegable, helpful, and friendly. The concierge and the doorman were helpful with information about the hotel, city, and transportation to and from the airport. The hotel was only a block from the Art Institute, about five blocks from the Magnificient Mile, only a mile from the Field Museum of History, 25 minutes from the Oriental Institute, twenty minutes from Navy Pier for dining, seeing the city from Lake Michigan, and enjoying the fabulous architectural tour on the Chicago River. The restuarants at the hotel were wonderful; the restuarants close to the hotel were excellent. Chicago is a friendly city with lots of places to see and dine. The taxi drivers were courteous and proceeded directly to desired location. The room was exceptionally clean, with plenty of soft white towels, and very quiet.

Great location, very comfortable place stay
This was my forst time in Chicago, and the location was just unbeatable. I stayed in the hotel for three nights, and was a great stay. The Bed was ver comfortable, although the room was not very well designed, i.e. could have been laid out in a better way, but furniture itself was good and clean. Service was great, and the staff was extremely helpful and corteous, The bathroom was big and well kept, but giving the rank of the hotel I would expect it to be a bit more luxurious, toiletery, tub, lighting, tub etc... Overall experience is excellent, and I would certainly recommend the hotel.

My review of The Palmer House Hilton
The Palmer House Hilton (Chicago) is fantastically decorated: the lobby has a great faux art ceiling and the rooms are in an art deco style. The staff are very accomodating. The hotel is accessible by train and many shops, restaurants and the Art Gallery are nearby. While the hotel has much going for it, I was irked - on more than one occasion - by the penny pinching that goes on. I could be less charitable and say that there was a lot of money grabbing attempts - for example, there is no complimentary tea/coffee in the rooms but there is Starbucks on the lower level; the paper comes everyday (except weekends) but the price is factored into your bill and you must cancel the paper delivery and ask for the payment credit; you must pay extra to use the fitness center/gym; if you want a 1-2 hour late checkout the charge is $25 and the price increases exponentially after that.
