Great Price, Great Location, Excellent Experience

The hotel was awesome! Really beautiful lobby! Great historical value right in the heart of "the loop." located right between State and Michigan ave this provided an awesome location from many restaurants and stores. Another great thing about the location was that nearly all the different subway lines are located just feet from the fron and side entrances. This made it so easy to get to other great parts of the city! the hotel room was really clean and the concierge staff very helpful, I would definitely stay here again!

Very nice hotel

The hotel was really kind of neat. Look up some of the history on it. The history is what sold me and i wasn't disappointing. The rooms were a tad smaller than i would have liked and our view of a brick wall wasn't ideal but it wasn't a deal breaker. My only issue is that the staff was somewhat impersonal. They were helpful enough but kind of cold towards us. The location is great! Right next to a train station and right in the middle of all of the major tourist attractions, very easy to get around. We didn't order room service because it was pretty pricey (18$ for a hamburger), but the front desk was helpful in finding different restaurants that delivered and there are many great places to eat withing a block or two.

Excellent location and value

The Palmer House was located right in the heart of everything you need to do in Chicago. Many great restaurants and museums were either within walking distance or a short, and inexpensive bus ride away. The staff was very helpful in finding places to eat, where things were located, how to get there, and a great map to insure your return to the hotel.

Wonderful old Chicago hotel

We chose The Palmer House for its central location and a great discounted price throughout web. Since we were visiting in late February, it was great to be steps from the Art Institute, Millenium Park, the Chicago Architecture Foundation, Symphony Hall and many good restaurants. If you love old style buildings, the lobby of the Palmer House alone is worth a visit. We upgraded to the Executive level, since the option of breakfast and afternoon snacks was welcome, although there are inexpensive options for both in the lower street level shops. My room seemed very large and spacious, while my friend's was minuscule but still comfortable. A great stay for the price we paid.
