Business trip
The breakfast buffet was very good but it was not included. The gym was good but it was NOT included and had to pay $10/day to use it. Great location but the room was very small. The bathroom door collided with the desk and the desk chair obstructed the passage. There was no tea/coffee maker in the room and internet was $7.50 per hour, so ended up at the coffee shop around the corner to have the coffee and internet that should have been included with the room given the price per night, but for less than $7.50 for several hours... In summary, not good for a business trip if you have to work and workout when you are in the hotel as everything has an extra charge!

No attention to detail.
My power didn't work when I got there, the bathrooms are incredibly tiny, the room had a tray from the previous stay outside the door and there was trash from the last tenants inside. The bed is really comfortable...but that's it. The view was awful. My TV remote didn't work really well and the 27" TV in the executive suite is many years behind. Also, they took down the Internet half-way through my stay and then brought it back with some "new" service that only gave me 56k. I fully intended on staying the 2 days after the conference for some R&R, but I went home instead because that would be more relaxing. I'll never stay here again. But I would visit the dining inside. AVOID THIS PLACE!

Family Reunion
I enjoyed the public areas of the hotel. Everything was very old world and luxurios. My room was small, but clean and comfortable. My childrens' room was a Huge suite since they were Hilton preffered clients. They were given many perks. There is a pool and excercise area which were nice, but the hot tube was not working. I enjoyed the convenience of the hotel to points of interest and the rail and bus services.

Use the hotel to access Millinium Park, Lake Shore walking sights, Michigan Ave. shopping, Navy Pier amusements, Chicago Art Institute. Use the rail system for airport connection or to reach all areas of Chicago. Walk or ride, Chicago is all there.

Palmer House was Perfect
Stayed here 3 nights while attending a convention at the McCormick Center. The lobby is gorgeous, rooms comfortable and well appointed, staff very courteous, and location is close to everything. Absolutely A+.

Palmer House, Chicago
I visit Chicago every year. Staying at Palmer House is like experiencing a bit of U.S. history. The place glows since its renovation. When I'm in Chicago, I always find time to sit in the lobby for a bit and enjoy a glass of wine. Love the burger at Potter's Lounge. It never fails to please! The rooms are clean and cozy. This year I got an upgrade that included complementary breakfast. Excellent buffet breakfast! Mrs. Palmer would have been proud of the hotel she left behind.

Great value in a great neighborhood
EVerything about this New Yorker's first Chicago experience was great. The Palmer House played a huge role in this experience. Classic, luxury design and an attentive staff. The only issue I had was the size of the pool. It was unexpectedly smal, but that was not important to my stay.

Palmer House Hilton - Chicago
The Palmer House was great with the notable exception of having some trouble figuring out where everything in the building was located. The other issue we had was that part of our planned stay was to be in Potter's Lounge at the end of the night, but a private event had it closed the entire evening. Kind of a let down, but otherwise the place is beautiful with a great and welcoming staff.
