1-2 Nov Stay
This was a very nice hotel. The room was a bit small and the bathroom did need some attention to detail. The wall paper was peeling and the shower head needed fixing. It would have been nice to have a couple of chairs and a table to just sit. For the price, I think the room could have been bigger. The location for our trip was perfect. We were able to walk to everyplace we wanted to go. We had a massage and that was great. The hot tub did not work and was a bit dated.

Best Place to stay with Family
This is the best place to stay if you are visiting Chicago on a family vacation. As this is in downtown you will enjoy the night view of the city also at no cost.

bait and switch
When we arrived at the hotel they tried to give us a room other than the one we reserved. The room was the size of a closet and the bed was only a full size vs. the king size that was promised in our reservation. They were very understaffed at the front desk, but they did finally manage to put us in a room with a king size bed. The bath was still extremely small and the elevators were incredibly slow. The historic lobby and breakfast dining area were the only redeeming qualities of this hotel.

Noisy staff and god help my allergies!
On my first night I had to open the door at around mid-night to ask people in the hallway to not be so loud outside my room. It was surprising that the people talking were hotel staff. Front desk was nice enough to switch my rooms the next morning because staff started having loud conversations again next morning at 7am. My next room had something odd (new carpet probably) that irritated my allergies enough for me to want to rush out of the room every morning I woke up. Add to the above the fact that there is a $10 fee for every gym visit. It used to be free in the past. Also, when booking the room description said - king size bed, mp3 clock and wireless internet. But the hotel charged for the wifi and the front desk staff was not at all pleasant in explaining that to me. Thanks to customer service from O_rbitz for sending me a voucher to reimburse for the wifi.

In the right spot
High brow or low brow, park, lake, museums, river, dining or the blues - it's hard to beat this location. A block from the red & blue CTA lines ($2.25 right to/from O'Hare), with enough diversions right off the lobby to spend plenty of time indoors, this hotel has it all. Only minor complaint is small room/bath, and no fridge in the room. Oh and no free wifi! Come on! Otherwise an excellent spot. RL
