Nice Weekend Stay in the City

Great location and amenities. Overall enjoyable stay. A bit surprised to be awaken by a crying child at 6am on Sunday morning. Room on 20th floor a bit dated. Nice continental breakfast included in stay.

classic hotel in heart of Chicago

Love the history here. Solid CHI landmark and nothing about it says chain-hotel experience. Fast check-in, friendly staff, dedicated elevators to top floors so less waiting for everyone. "L" stop right outside the door (where it's underground and not elevated so no noise). Easy walk to Michigan Ave and sites. Right next to great State St. shopping.

Overpriced

Small room- small bathroom. Location was great--- Just not impressed with the room. We paid $315 for one night. That included a double bed- so small- and a tight bathroom with no room to move around in it. The bathroom tub was extremely slow while draining.

Amazing Hotel!

The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very clean and spacious. That noted, other than the cleaning service, most of the staff has room for improvement.

Conference

The lounge and communal spaces are fabulous, but this is an old hotel and the rooms are small and the bathroom cramped. For the price, it would've been nice to get a few ammenities: coffee pot in room, robe, etc. The rooms are also not well insulated and tends to be noisy.

Historic Chicago

The Palmer House was a very large and well located hotel in downtown Chicago. Our room was quite big with two double beds and a spacious sitting area. The hotel is older but well maintained and updating has kept with the historic style. Very quiet and convenient.

Excellent hotel with beautiful lobby.

Great experience. Upgraded to a mini-suite on executive floor. Beds are very comfortable, furniture us nice, but not luxurious Bathrooms well equipped, but typical Hilton. Very attentive staff. Perfect location - very central but minimal traffic noise.

if you enjoy history and architecture, this is a great hotel in a very good location.

my wife and I have stayed here on multiple occasions and the hotel was very clean and in a great location. Seeing that we only spend 8 hours a day in the hotel, we have never been the type turned off by smaller rooms. We dont need an enormous room to enjoy our stay. Our room had recently been updated and very clean. And if you enjoy it history and a little bit of nostalgia this is a great place to stay. Having a drink in the lobby on a Friday or Saturday evening makes you remember why you chose this location.
