Eh

The lobby of the hotel was very modern and nice so I thought the rooms would be the same. I was wrong. The rooms were outdated and unimpressive. The staff was the same. I would not stay here again.

Great Location

The standard rooms at the hotel are very small. Great location and if you can get a good deal on the room its worth it. Watch out for the $45 dollars a day parking rates. A little outrageous if you ask me.

Location, Location

The Allerton is in a prime location. The public areas, entry, check in lobby and the bar are hip but also still show off the handsome architecutre of the building. OUr room was fine however the bathroom is small and but their are no the extras like a robe and cosmetic supplies, only shampoo and lotion. The bed, sheets and pillows were great. The TV is very out dated, but it did work. Woudl stay there again for the low room charge, however, overnight car parking is $51.

Below Expectations

When I checked in I asked for a room on the quiet Huron side of the building. I was told the hotel was pretty empty and that would not be a problem. I went to my room and found it to be a bit warn (even the fluorescent light in the bathroom was flicking) and looked out the window to see Michigan Ave below. The room stunk of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking floor. There was only one bath towel, one hand towel and one wash cloth in the bathroom. I opened the mini-fridge to find the last occupants open beer and dip. Oh, and the in-room internet connection was not complementary -luckly I could pick-up the Omni's network accross the street! Room service is breakfast only.

Great for a man

The room was smaller than I thought it would be. Very thing was clean, but the bathroon didn't have good storage. There were shades on the window in my room and I couldn't pull them down. Also the heat and air condition they don't have directions on how to operate. For the money I expected more......

Great location, decent hotel.

Great location at a great price. Parking was $51 per day, which is not outrageous for downtown Chicago, but nevertheless A LOT of money. Charged $10 per day for internet. Room was small but OK. Expect "sale" rooms to be next to elvators and ice machines (like our's was). Staff was professional, no complaints.

Even the best can get it wrong sometimes

Overall the hotel was very nice. I had issues with the cleaning staff not servicing the room until AFTER I called (at around 3pm). Secondly, the service in the restaurant was VERY SLOW. Breakfast had a wait time of 15 min for a serve yourself breakfast buffet?! The staff moved at a glacial pace in clearing the tables thus causing others to wait as well.

Not my favorite in chi-town

the location is great, but it was pretty noisy inside and out at night. the elevators were small and took forever. the staff wasn't the most friendly or helpful.
