The Allerton Hotel Chicago, Magnificent Mile

Stayed in a Petite Classic room for business. This size room is perfect for the single business traveler. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are perfect for one and the hotel staff is friendly and prompt. The lobby offers free WiFi and I was even offered a free drink from the hotel bar when a non smoking room wasn't immediately available. My 14th floor room faced Michigan Ave, but I didn't hear any of the busy city street traffic. The hotel is also in a great location, almost right in the middle of the Magnificent Mile, so once you walk out of the lobby, you have instant access to great shops and food. I would definitely stay here again for business, but perhaps get a bigger room if I were visiting for pleasure.

It was a great hotel a very good price, its located in the heart of chicago, the nicest shops are very close.

The Allerton Hotel was conveniently located near all the tourist destinations I cared to visit. I loved being able to jog from the hotel to the path along the lake. The room was very comfortable and quiet. My business took me to some far flung locations. I asked the staff for help and found them very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was in a great location for my business trip. Lots of shopping right outside the hotel. I stayed in a very tiny room which was fine since I was by myself. It would not have worked with 2 people,but I felt it was a good value and if it would be available the next time I came to Chicago I would stay there again.

The Allerton Hotel has a history that goes back to the golden radio days. Of course, the hotel has been remodelled in a smart art deco decor, but it is not just their past reputation that they rely on. My room was small, but very attractively done and the bed was wonderful. However, the best thing about the Allerton is it's location on the Magnificent Mile which is Michigan Avenue. It is situated in the heart of the Gold Coast with the best shopping and restaurants in the City. It is only a short walk to the newly created Millenium Park with it's Geary designed band shell. Museums and the famous architecture of Chicago are all close at hand at the Allerton.

For my first visit to Chicago, my boyfriend & I chose to stay at the Allerton. It's location is fabulous..very close to the things we wanted to see and do. It is in the heart of the Magnificent Mile, so shopping & dining was abundant. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The elevators are a little compact, however just adds to the coziness and allowed me some nice cuddle time with my honey during the short ride. The room was nice. Great bathroom and the bed was soooooo comfy! I would definitely stay at the Allerton my next viait to Chicago.

This hotel was very nice. The staff was extremely friendly. The location was fantastic. It was within walking distance to anything you wanted, stores, restaurants, etc. I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Chicago.

The Allerton is located right on Michigan Ave. in the heart of the action. I was upgraded to a junior suite,the room was well appointed and comfortable. I would have preferred a selection of pillows; some down, less firm , more firm etc. I was only in town for one night and did not eat at the hotel so I have no comment regarding the food service. I would return to this hotel due to the great location and value.

This is an old hotel, as evidenced by the exterior. The inside has been fully updated. It has a modern decor and reminds me of boutique hotels, except that it is much larger. Elevators are on occasion quirky but we never had to wait long for one. The hotel restaurant is overpriced, which is unfortunate since it is a bit harder than you might expect to find good dining options is this part of downtown Chicago.

This hotel is older (80 some years.) So of course the rooms are small. But they are just recently renovated and look great. They were clean and very cozy. I felt right at home in this hotel. I would recommend this hotel, but if you want a lavish hotel this may not be for you. If you are a practical traveler like am then you will be very happy.
