The Allerton Hotel Chicago, Magnificent Mile

All the help is friendly and go out of their way to welcome visitors,The location is perfect . Easy to get to everything of interest in Chicago from the Michigan Ave. busses .Surrounded by all the luxury hotels but I much rather stay here and avoid all the glitz. Of course the price difference is enormous.

My view was of the lake and water tower place, fantastic. My room was petite, but perfect for me, had a beautiful new marble bathroom, done in a very traditional style, yet sleek and spotlessly clean. So the wall paper was a bit dated, and the curtains and carpeting clean but could use an update. The bedding was so nice, expensive linens and towels. Seems they spent the money providing the most important things a visitor would want. Loved staying at this hotel, felt very safe. They staff was professional and very customer friendly.

I was disappointing upon check in to find that my room was not ready. They offered me a smaller room with only one bed so I decided to wait. It took 3 hours for my room to become ready. Upon getting into the room it was clean, and the staff was friendly.

Location was excellent. Staff was terrific. Room was small but I got a last minute deal. Room had no view from the 4th floor behind the elevators however it was on the same floor of the business center which was helpful. The elevators are slow and although there are many I was always waiting for an elevator.

The hotel location was good for shopping. However, the size of the room was pretty small. Also, wireless service was not free and there are three choices for the internet speed. Even though I stayed in a small sized room, it was not that bad...

Very nice hotel with a courteous, professional staff. Although my room was somewhat small, it was fine for a single traveller. Also, the location was perfect - right on the Magnificent Mile. Chicago is a walking city, and many of the main attractions are nearby. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Hi there, Just a short note to say that I really enjoyed my stay at the Allerton Hotel. I will definitely recommend it to family and friends. The location was perfect and the staff was friendly, courteous and very helpful. I love the room decor...really upbeat. I was so comfortable I had trouble leaving the room on the day I had to check out. :) Would like to send a special thank you to all the front desk staff particularly Ms. Picaro. Great location on the MIracle Mile; however, the room was very small. There was only a rather small shower (no tub) in the bathroom. I am a small person however I don't believe a larger person would be able to comfortably use the shower. There was chipped paint, mold and mildew in the shower. There were red stains on the carpeting. The hotel staff wasn't the most helpful regarding how to navigate the Chicago subway system. Based on these issues, I would not stay at The Allerton again.

Stayed for two nights during the memorial weekend. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. It is located close to one of metro stations so it was also convenient to come from and go to the airport.

I got an incredible deal thru this site, so for what I paid, you can't go wrong. Absolute great location. An older hotel, but it is a bit frayed around the edges. The free internet available in the lobby helps. I got upgraded from a small classic room to a top floor suite with great views of the Water Tower area. I would stay again if the price was right.
