Good for the value
Location can't get any better. We got a brick wall for a view but we just went to the hotel to sleep and wasn't a big deal for us. The staff is super courteous. The only bad are little details that I was expecting at a Chicago hotel. I'm used to have lotion when I go to hotels and don't carry mine but they don't offer it; there is nothing professional about the hair dryer like it says on the description and it would be nice if they have one of those "do not disturb" signs to hang on the door for housekeepers not to knock in the morning after going to sleep so late.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
If you buy the CTA pass and the Chicago City Pass you can actually be in a great location and visit 5 attractions while on a budget. My kids are still wondering how did I afford it. Forever 21 is insane. I went to the ones by itself on North Michigan Ave but prefer the ones in the Water Towers since is less busy. While at the towers, go have lunch and dessert in the lower level! Patron's Hacienda and TGIF are nearby. Don't forget Graciano's Pizza!

Service must have been on vacation
The staff either needs to have a new lesson on customer service or the hoetl must have been having a training of new staff when I was there. The staff was not even friendly. When i checked out, the women was actually talking on the phone to someone else and didn't even thank me for staying there. Hotel needs to understand what customer service is. Elevators were slow. My room had a tv on the side of the room and not in front of the bed. The bar was small and when I went down for a drink, I asked if I could sit at a table in the closed dinning room since there was no place to stay. the bartender said no and then moved on to another customer.

Location, Location, Location - a perfect place to stay if you want to enjoy the City of Chicago. Departmental shopping within walking distance, Great, but also reasonable places to eat are around the corner. We had breakfast at Wild Berries @ Rondolph/Michigan. Dinner at Cheese Cake Factory and Lunch @ Hancook Building 96th Floor - Great view for the city of Chicago. Hotel receptionists were excellent and very helpful. We enjoyed the Flower Show @ May C's. We do like spacious rooms so we stayed one King Bed which we greatly recommend or upgrade to a suite. You feel like in a box if you take standard room. Bye.

Good place to stay.
The hotel staff, concierge, and valet were all very helpful. My only quibble was a delay involved in getting my luggage from the valet storage room up to my room. When I called a second time to check on it, they remedied the problem immediately. The room I had was small, but it is exactly what I expected for an older hotel in Chicago. IT was a good price and a nice room for somewhere to sleep.

Would Stay Again
Our two night stay worked out great at this hotel. It is basically on the miracle mile so location is fantastic, especially for shoppers, it is also a short walk to the red line, cabs are right outside and many places to eat nearby. The staff was very attentive, the bed was very comfortable and the hotel has lots of charm. I especially liked the marble bathroom and the glass-door shower. The room was small but cozy and there was plenty of room for our suitcases and lots of space in the closet to hang up clothing. The hotel bar is nice as well as the restaurant, but the food was so-so. We would stay at this hotel again for sure.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Stop at Portillos on Ontario for lunch or dinner, its a classic Chicago spot for casual dining and the food is excellent, especially Chicago-Style hot dogs and Italian Beef. Its a fast-food place but they do it right and serve beer! There are also neat items from the Old Chicago Stadium inside, including old seats and Bulls and Blackhawks memorabilia.

Quick trip
I was only in Chicago for 1 night, there for a job interview the next morning. Upon arrival, I was excited to see the location of the hotel! The front desk staff was awesome, the young lady asked me what I was doing in town, after learning I had a job interview she offered up a late check out for me without me asking. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the room, was very tiny, but so cozy. The bathroom was adorable, I loved my view.....Michigan Avenue! My only complaint is the room was hard to regulate the temperature and the system was very loud. This hotel is not the Ritz, so don't go with that attitude and you'll love it. The location is perfect, I walked everywhere, and it's perfect for a getaway. Will stay there again on my next trip to The Windy City.

Millenium Park.... go the Park grille for lunch. It sits under the bean, and in the winter you can watch people skate.
