Great location! Beautiful setting!

The location right on Michigan Ave could not have been any better from 17 stories up! On top of the that, the hotel was was gorgeous and extremely clean! The staff was excellent too! The size of the rooms are pretty small...I suggest couples go with a standard room and not a petite classic because it gets cramped then. Also, there isn't a pool here, we knew that coming in but we didn't realize how much we'd miss it after getting back from a long day walking in the heat of Chicago! It's definitely a four star hotel, but I suggest looking for promo codes online to get a discount because it lacks space and amenities. I would go back here and I would also recommend it to friends.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

This is a Time Saver and a Money Saver. Don't be like me and expect to buy an unlimited CTA pass in the L station. You need to go to either a Walgreens or Jewel-Osco in Chicago to buy the unlimited passes. I suggest getting them because a single ride will cost you $2.25. The transportation system is great there. So convenient to use!

Small, old, low class, yuck.

The best thing to say about this hotel is its location near the Miracle Mile. The hotel is 100 years old, rooms are small (and we had a deluxe king!) with little light and the bathrooms TINY. Nothing seemed fresh. We used the room only to sleep and shower, and even that was an issue, with endless noise from neighboring rooms, horseplay in the corridors all night, even someone trying to use their key to enter our room at 1am. We called security, no response. It is in no way a 3 or 4 star property. Do not recommend and won't go back., despite many upcoming trips to Chicago planned.

old, small, yuck

Hotel is 100 yrs old and it shows. Only positive thing is great location. Rooms are small (and we had deluxe king!) with tiny window, tiny bathroom, and a carpet that needed a shampoo. Staff was OK, not fabulous. We used basically to sleep and shower, and still it was sub-par. Saturday night drunken people throughout floors, virtually NO security, and no response to call that someone was drunkenly trying to enter our room at 1am! Would not recommend, never go back.

mini-vacation

Hotel was in a great location in the center of town and the city's activities. The staff was extremely helpful in arranging transportation and recommending tours, restaurants and activities to satisfying our interests. The room, while very comfortable were small, but we weren't visiting the city to spend a lot of time in the room.

Great couples weekend hotel

Pros: The staff was really friendly, The concierge gave me tons of great suggestions, the rooms were really clean. The location was great for shopping and food. Cons: Breakfast was not included, Their elevators are ridiculously slow, and they charge a lot for slow WiFi.

You get what you pay for

If you get a good deal on a room here, the front desk seems to know this and asigns a terrible room. If it was not because of a screaming guest in an adjoining room at 3 am, whereby the hotel needed to do something nice, and eventually moved me to a better room, I would have never known a better room even existed. However, the first room was unacceptable at any price.

Great weekend getaway

Very cool hotel. Loved the room. However, I feel that guests at the hotel should have special parking rates if they are guests of the hotel.

Upgrading to a king room makes the room normal size. If you opt for the smaller Queen double room, then expect it to be slightly smaller than average. Otherwise, we found the King Bed room to be very adequate in all respects.

Average Stay

I was disappointing upon check in to find that my room was not ready. They offered me a smaller room with only one bed so I decided to wait. It took 3 hours for my room to become ready. Upon getting into the room it was clean, and the staff was friendly.
