Think long and hard

As life long residents of Chicago we dedcide to stay-cation. I chose this hotel because we wanted to try something out of the oridnary. It claimed to have updated rooms (not really). The service and attitudes of the hotel and Palm resaurant employees were rude and pitiful in this economy. The pool was not very warm or clean, our shower leaked all over the bathroom floor, we could not rent movies, the room service prices were ridiculous for mediocre food. When we called for the leaking shower & movies, the reply would be "What would you like me to do about that?" The only saving grace of this establishment was the hotel's restaurant in the lower lever, the staff was fabulous and food was delicious! We enjoyed a wonderfully filling breakfast on Sat. and returned for the same on Sunday.

Horrible experience

Location was good. Other then that the experience at swissotel was horrible. Small beds...terrible maid service. Ordered towels and room cleaning multiple times with no response. The toilet overflowed and wasn't cleaned til the next day despite many attempts for assistance.

Taking over the Town.

Hotel was great! They let us check in early, gave us a nice clean room! House keeper was very polite and [...] at the bar in the lobby was one of the best bartenders I had while I was in town. Went to a Cubs/Yankee game and toured the city on their boat and bus rides.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Everything was so close and if it rained they had a whole underground plaza with shopping and resturants to get to which was really cool.

Nice Hotel but all extras has a cost

I was very happy with the rate I get with [...], but once in the hotel all is extra and expensive Internet 10 dollars dayly, parking lot 52 dollars dayly, botlle of water 7 dollars each. plus tipsI arrive at the Hotel at 10 am and the frontdesk people ask me to wait 2 hours to get ready my 2 beds room. Then i went to visit some friends in chicago and come back at 10 pm and it was not any room with 2 beds available. I get angry and then they miracle found a 2 bed room for me.

Great Stay

Very convenient to both the loop and the magnificent mile. We hoofed it both ways. Very clean! Loved our room overlooking the river, Wrigley Building, NBC, etc. Also loved the bathrobes, desk, spacious room and bathroom. Would definitely stay there again. One of the better hotels I've stayed at in Chicago.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Ate at Hugo Frogs on Rush...excellent seafood. Crab cakes are huge...one order could definitely feed two women. Also ate breakfast at Orange on Clark...very unique pancakes, french toast and egg selections. Both places very busy. Be prepared to wait on weekends or secure a reservation.

Great Location!!

Hotel is located near everything; magnificent mile, grant park, millenium park and Navy pier, shopping, restaurants, etc. Everything is within walking distance. Our hotel room had a great view of the Chicago River and skyline. The bed was comfortable and service great. I would definitely stay here again! One warning though - the minibar is weight sensored so if you plan on using the fridge to store your own cold beverages or leftovers or even touch anything in there a bill is automatically generated since it shows that you "moved" the items in the mini-fridge. Just let front desk know and they will fix it right away. Seems like it happens all the time. No big deal, but we were surprised to see a bill slid underneath our door for $80 bucks due to "minibar interfacing".

Swissotel - Chicago Memorial Day

The hotel is very comfortable and has all the amenities that we could ask for. The hotel was clean, as it was during our last stay, except for a coke bottle (not ours) that was behind the dresser - we didn't see it until we were packing our things to leave. Hotel bar staff was very friendly and helpful, giving us ideas for the night out on the town.

Nice hotel

My grandchildren really loved the beds in the room, they were soft and very comfortable. We did not have a lake side view from our room, but that was ok since our view of the skyscrapers and the Natural History museum was spectacular. Checking in and out of the hotel was seamless. Hotel staff were helpful and pleasant. My only complaint about my stay was the amorous predawn activity of the occupants of the adjacent room. I realize the hotel doesn't know which bed squeaks, but the placement of the beds against opposite sides of the same wall forced me to become an unwilling spectator to a private event and banging on the wall was not an acceptable option with the grandchildren in the room.

The dining room menu was a bit pricey for brakfast for 3 children, but the hotel is a short walk to the Navy Pier where a McDonalds is located.

Very nice hotel

Very nice hot tub, pool and work out center overlooking the city of Chicago from the 42nd floor, also we loved the hot cider and fruit water in the lobby. After all the walking a nice drink when you walked in the hotel was nice.
