The all-glass, pyramid-shaped hotel is a standout even in a city that's renowned for its incredible architecture. From its lush lobby lit with sparkling, bubble-shaped fixtures to its 42nd-floor fitness center, Swissotel Chicago is a cut above the rest.

While staying at this four-diamond hotel, hit the 42nd-floor Penthouse Fitness Centre and Pool for dramatic views of the city, state-of-the-art cardio equipment, a 45-foot pool, a dry sauna, a Jacuzzi and much more.

The hotel is wonderful. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The only issue I had is that everything is extra. Such as WiFi, parking.

Great view but the room looked a bit worn down. Chipping paint, tattered furniture, tiny bit outdated.

Very good hotel. Conveniently located. I had to get use to the weak stream from the shower. Other than that everything else was as expected for a 4 star hotel.

Beautiful hotel in downtown Chicago

Would recommend Sun, Oct 25, 2015
This is a lovely hotel! My room (a free upgrade) had a lovely view of the lake. I was visiting my daughter in the hospital and the staff members were kind and helpful and gave me free internet access so that that I could more easily keep in touch with my husband about her condition, since my cell phone didn't work very well from my room. As a bonus, if you need to mail a package, there is a UPS facility in the basement. I didn't try the restaurant, but the lobby cafe served excellent coffee.

Girls night out

Would recommend Mon, Oct 19, 2015
The overall experience was okay. The atmosphere was nice and very modern. Value of the hotel room was pretty average. It was a hot summer day, the room temperature was set at 70 degrees, we turned it down to 60 before we left since we like the room nice and cool. When we arrived it was not cool at all, it was an uncomfortable temperature to sleep in. I mentioned it to the lady at the front desk and asked if we wanted to get it fixed and the engineer never showed up. Also had to pay for wifi in the room, which is always a rip off. We stopped at the bar for a few drinks before and after dinner and if you're not sitting dead center due to the huge pillars you have to flag down the bartenders. Especially toward the end of the night, the bartender(s) were especially only friendly to the younger women sitting dead center and we had to continuously ask for our glass to be refilled. He used the pillar as an excuse. I think working there and knowing there is a pillar part of your bar you would make effort to be more available to the customers. A couple sat next to us to get a glass of wine and I told them they have to go to the other side of the pillar to get their attention. It was kind of annoying. Overall the setting is great, and the location is awesome. The service and room is just as average as you would receive at a Doubletree or something. No staff members really stuck out, there was a tall blonde gentleman at the bar who kind of just hung out there and helped around. He was nice but also only focused on certain customers.
