Perfect location at the top of the Magnificent mile
As locations go, this Wacker Drive hotel couldn't do better, occupying prime riverfront space in the historical Mather Tower off the Magnificent Mile. The landmark River Hotel has kept up with the times, especially when it comes to environmental impact. Its LEED-registered building and Green Power Partner utilizes low-flow showerheads and participates in recycling programs. For what it may lack in luxury and size, the hotel scores on points like casual ambiance, simplicity and value.

River Hotel - Chicago
Nice hotel. trendy, not out-dated, great location on Wacker Drive, just minutes from tons of stuff to do. Parking at the self-serve is $24 a night....just get it validated by the hotel first. Friendly staff who were accomodating to requests. We originally had the wrong room, and they changed it for us without an issue. the rooms are small....don't expect a lot of walking room....but otherwise a nice, comfortable place. Walls are not thin -- we didn't hear anyone in the hallways or the elevators.

Great location on Chicago River.
Normally I've stayed with a friend in Streeterville but he moved. Decided to go with River Hotel as its location is on northern border of the Loop w/ access to many more affordable cafes and shops. Being right on the Chicago River was a huge plus and allowed for beautiful walks along the esplanade over to Lake Michigan and Navy Pier. Professional, friendly staff and great room with view of the bridges and river.
