Great location

The location is excellent - would stay there again just based on location!!! Otherwise, we didn't spend much time in the room - it is small but that didn't bother us. What DID bother us is the lack of a vent fan in the bathroom (very steamy and hot after showers)!!

Safe, Secure, Clean, Comfortable, AWESOME STAFF!

I'm not fancy but this hotel checked off all the important boxes where I am concerned. This hotel is Safe, Secure, Clean, Affordable, centrally located, with an unbeatable staff! The staff went above and beyond to help this exhausted traveler check in asap! The shower and nap allowed me to enjoy my limited time in Chicago! Trader Joes is right down the street which meant eating healthy on the cheap, starbucks and dunkin doughnuts are across the street with awesome hours and good coffee. Its a short bus ride or about a mile walk to the blue line for affordable train ride to Chicago O'Hare. They have safes in the room for important documents and what have you. Will definitely stay here again!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Cabs are pricey, the CTA (subway and trains) are awesome. Chicago people are amazingly friendly and helpful! Just ask nicely!!

Weekend getaway

Stayed here before, good rates, great location right off the magnificent mile. Didn't stay in room long, just to sleep. Staff was nice, didn't like waiting until 4pm to get our room, but still was good.

Not worth the money

I have stayed at better hotels for less than 1/2 the price. Very small room, things are old and plumbing leaks. Virtually no amenities and very expensive parking. Would not stay again.

Cheap for Chicago but kind of dirty and had no water pressure in the shower.

Chicago getaway

Great location, and quite cheap! Service there still has a lot of room to be improved, but overall, I would come here again because of the price and location.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

The Michigan avenue is right at the corner. And to go to the main area like the millenium park, skydeck etc. is just a $2.25 bus trip away.

1/2 blk off of shopping

One night say and pet friendly but park is at least 3 blocks away. Pricey valet parking.

location, location and service

One quiet block off the heart of bustling Michigan Ave, quick walk to the "Loop", in a renovated handsome old building, with courteous and helpful staff, this hotel delivers excellent value. Don't be put off by the small and somewhat tatty lobby, the rooms are fresh and clean. Lots of swell place to eat all around the hotel.

Dreihaus Museum has a fine collection of 19th C American decorative art in a sumptuous house museum from late 19th C.

Location is great

If you are trying to save money so you can spend it shopping on the Magnificent Mile, this hotel worked fine. It was around the block from the MM. I felt safe. The bed was good. The bathroom small. There are no amenities--unless you call the coffee pot an amenity. If I was trying to save money I'd probably stay here again.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Buy a metro pass and use it on all the public transportation. It was much easier and probably more economical. Also, the City Pass saved us so much time when going to the Willis Tower that it was worth whatever the price was!
