Worst trucker motel ever
Some would think that a Ramada branding equals a basic standard of cleanliness and service that would go along with the ramada name. Not so my friends... If you're imagining a nice hotel with a lakeside view, with clean carpets and neutral odor, look elsewhere... Anywhere at all. I stayed here for 6 unfortunate nights as this was the only hotel close to the trade show I was attending that was under $200/ night. Having paid $180 per night, I just feel like one of the ladies of the night that must frequent this establishment...I walk way with unfortunate memories of a carpet with more stains than grandma's tablecloth on thanksgiving, after my parents spilled eggnog ALL over it. Thanks Ramada Lakshore for ruining eggnog for me.

Suitable hotel in a convenient location
This hotel is a bit outdated, but was clean enough. The staff was kind and personable. It's a couple of blocks from the Metra station, which got us to the Bears game with ease. The bed was comfy and the view of the lake was perfect. I would stay there again.

Stayed one too Many days
I felt like I stepped back into the 80's. The decor hadn't been upgraded since then and it was in ill repair, popcorn ceilings, dated wallpaper, torn carpet, and lots of laminate. It would have been nice if there were a refrigerator and safe in the room. The iron was locked to the board and the toilet looked like it should have been in a public washroom, instead of hotel bathroom. The staff provided good service, but it was just good. The room was clean and the only conveniences were free parking and WiFi in the room. I guess this hotel's motto is if it's not broke don't fix it, but they're not fixing it even when it is broken.

Shabby hotel, Ok location
Old, poorly maintained, had problems with wireless. The personnel was good. The only positives were the convenient location and free parking. 10 min walk to 47th St Metra station. It took only 15 min by train to get to Millenium park.

You get what you pay for
Pros: Good location. Only three blocks from the metra to downtown. Relatively cheap stay. Free parking. Our room was old but clean. Same could be said for the pool. Cons: Hotel is literally crumbling outside (stucco falling off of brick). Wifi has a range of about 40 feet outside the lobby. If your room does not fall in that range you're s.o.l. If you are lucky enough to get wifi in your room(I wasn't and i was in the closest building to the lobby) you will undoubtedly be frustrated by the deathly slow internet speed of 18 kb/s. None of the drains in our room worked. You couldn't brush your teeth without filling up the sink. The television was about 20 years old, very dark picture you could barely see with the lights off, and the sound only went up to 16 on a scale of 50. I assume that was so you weren't blaring the tv and disrupting other guests, but you couldn't hear it anytime the a/c came on. Also, about half of the channels, including HBO, don't work. The ice machine(s) was always out of ice. The "Business Center" consists of one desktop computer running the original version of windows xp. It took me 4 minutes to load google.com. The "fitness center" consists of two treadmills and a total gym type of machine in an 8x10 room in the middle of the lobby with great big windows. Too creepy for me. Summary: The Ramada Lake Shore would be a good place to stay as long as you were only sleeping here and not spending any actual time at the hotel. Not a place you want to hang around. The staff was polite but not very helpful.
