Boutique luxury in the heart of the Gold Coast

In Chicago, the rule for downtown real estate is the closer to Lake Michigan, the more posh the address. Enter the Raffaello Hotel, a four-star hotel just steps from the lake and Magnificent Mile with a Michelin-rated chef and executive suites. Blending old-world aesthetics with modern conveniences, the hotel manages luxury and intimacy while being near the downtown hub. Stepping into the vintage building just off the tourist drag, guests are more likely to feel like Gold Coast residents than tourists. Raffaello Hotel offers Drumbar, a rooftop speakeasy-style inside lounge and outdoor garden terrace, found in the 18th floor.

Highlights
  • Walk to the Magnificent Mile
  • Next to the John Hancock Center
  • Rooftop sundeck
  • Upscale Italian fare at Pelago
  • Sanctuary fitness center with Precor fitness equipment
Rooms

Staying in this vintage building poses several advantages. The Raffaello Hotel offers rooms with high ceilings and architectural details for a unique, high-class vintage stay. Butterscotch-hued bedding and drapes match the walls, while high ceilings --painted stark white--stun with their beam construction. All rooms feature rainfall showerheads, GUYandGIRL amenities, 32-inch LCD TV, iHome and iPod players and 340-count linens. Rooms, which come in king, double double and suite versions are hard-wire and Wi-Fi enabled.

Features

Any Chicagoan will encourage a newcomer to put dining and an architectural experience on the itinerary. At the Raffaello Hotel, both needs are satisfied thanks to Pelago, the upscale Italian seafood restaurant and the rooftop garden, which is open from late spring to late fall. From the sundeck, guests can take in glorious views of the skyline, including Navy Pier and the next door neighbor: the John Hancock Center.

Girls Weekend

Just got back from a 4 nite girls weekend. This hotel is perfect. Quiet, located right next door to the Hancock Center, within walking distance of beach, Navy Pier, shopping, many fine restaurants. It is clean and quiet, and the staff is very helpful. No pool, breakfast,(coffee is served downstairs in the mornings) but we bought a few groceries and put them in our room refrig..ate cereal and fruit and drank their coffee. For bigger breakfasts, there are hotels and restaurants close by. One block to the bus line which will take you anywhere you want to go. I used to stay here on business 20+ years ago, and it's still wonderful.

Great stay

Although a short stay we enjoyed this boutique style hotel. We appreciated the small sized lobby that was never overcrowded, decorations and front of the hotel were very pretty. Staff was friendly and always helpfull.

Excellent Hotel and Location

We had a wonderful stay. This was a great refurbished hotel in a nice area of town with many attractions and restaurants nearby. I suggest the "Go Chicago" card for everyone in the family and with a CTA ticket, you can go everywhere and see it all. We were there 5 days and never ran out of things to do.

The Navy Pier has much to offer for adults and children. The Tall Ship Windy, the Stained Glass Museum and the Children's Museum with plenty of shopping and restaurants are there.

Very Nice!

This turned out to be a great choice. I use to live in Chicago and am quite familiar with all of the hotels downtown. This was a great stay and a great deal. Super good coffee provided in the lobby by the metropolitan coffee company (saved me from hitting starbucks). A giant bowl of fresh crunchy apples in the fitness room was another pleasant bonus (I partook freely). Very high quality fitness equipment. Walking distance to everything.

Excellent hotel and very neat. It should have downstairs a bigger place for coffee service, since everyone is drinking coffee between 7 and 8am sometimes the thermos were empty.

Impressive boutique hotel in a great loc

My room was spacious and well appointed with everything I needed including a DVD player and a microwave oven. The staff was friendly and very service oriented. The location of the hotel was extremely convenient: one block from Michigan Ave. and two blocks from the lake.
