Boutique luxury in the heart of the Gold Coast
In Chicago, the rule for downtown real estate is the closer to Lake Michigan, the more posh the address. Enter the Raffaello Hotel, a four-star hotel just steps from the lake and Magnificent Mile with a Michelin-rated chef, in-room spa services, executive suites and a 24-hour business center. Blending old-world aesthetics with modern conveniences, the hotel manages luxury and intimacy while being near the downtown hub. Stepping into the vintage building just off the tourist drag, guests are more likely to feel like Gold Coast residents than tourists. Raffaello Hotel offers Drumbar, a rooftop speakeasy-style inside lounge and outdoor garden terrace, found in the 18th floor.
Highlights
- Walk to the Magnificent Mile
- Next to the John Hancock Center
- Boutique hotel with a 24-hour business center and rooftop sundeck
- Upscale Italian fare at Pelago
- Sanctuary fitness center with Precor fitness equipment
Rooms
Staying in this vintage building poses several advantages. The Raffaello Hotel offers rooms with high ceilings and architectural details for a unique, high-class vintage stay. Butterscotch-hued bedding and drapes match the walls, while high ceilings --painted stark white--stun with their beam construction. All rooms feature rainfall showerheads, Gilchrest and Soames amenities, 32-inch LCD TV, iHome and iPod players and 340-count linens. Rooms, which come in king, double double and suite versions are hard-wire and Wi-Fi enabled.
Features
Any Chicagoan will encourage a newcomer to put dining and an architectural experience on the itinerary. At the Raffaello Hotel, both needs are satisfied thanks to Pelago, the upscale Italian seafood restaurant and the rooftop garden, which is open from late spring to late fall. From the sundeck, guests can take in glorious views of the skyline, including Navy Pier and the next door neighbor: the John Hancock Center.

Night out in Chicago
The Raffaello met all expectations. I am a big fan of independent more boutique hotels and the Raffaello was what i was looking for. Booked a double room for 2 couples and was upgraded into a King suite which was nice. King Suite had a queen pullout sofa which worked, but if you are planning on using this as a second bed I would not recommend it. It was not the most comfortable but I was willing to make the sacrifice for the larger room. Asked the front desk if the could offer complimentary drink coupons and they agreed to my request. After a concert we headed up to the Drum Bar to take advantage of the free drinks that the bar was amazing. Great outdoor seating, party rooms, and everything looked amazing. A bit pricey but within my expected range as its a rooftop bar in a 4 star hotel. The bar had a great atmosphere and would recommend you to go up to the 18th floor if you stay here. Breakfast was fantastic!. They have a small donut shop called Glazed and they are well worth the calories if you want a quick bite before heading out to the city. What a great stay. Make this a top choice for a Chicago getaway.

Great girls trip!
I came to Chicago with 3 of my good friends from college just to have fun. We stayed in the grand suite and it was great! We had a view down the street to Michigan Ave. and the Hancock tower. We got a great deal on the room for pre-paying for it. The staff were friendly and helpful in any way we asked. The room was perfectly clean, beautiful and comfortable. We especially liked the rainfall shower in the bathroom! The location, price, and overall feel of the hotel was exactly what we were looking for.

I would come back!
The hotel was overbooked on 2 double bed rooms, so we were upgraded to an executive suite which was lovely. I loved the feel of the hotel- small, cozy, boutique hotel. I slept on a pull out couch mattress which was a little lumpy, but the king bed was great! The rooftop bar is spectacular. The security man at the entrance of the bar was very friendly and kind. The other side of the rooftop had chairs and tables and you can enjoy the spectacular views. Because of the location of the hotel, we were able to walk everywhere and only needed a cab once. Great experience!

Girls Weekend
Just got back from a 4 nite girls weekend. This hotel is perfect. Quiet, located right next door to the Hancock Center, within walking distance of beach, Navy Pier, shopping, many fine restaurants. It is clean and quiet, and the staff is very helpful. No pool, breakfast,(coffee is served downstairs in the mornings) but we bought a few groceries and put them in our room refrig..ate cereal and fruit and drank their coffee. For bigger breakfasts, there are hotels and restaurants close by. One block to the bus line which will take you anywhere you want to go. I used to stay here on business 20+ years ago, and it's still wonderful.

Girl's night out!
Location, Location, Location great. 1 block off Michican St. Special rate for the evening was a plus. Very large room but could of used more sitting. Only two table chairs provided. A loveseat or 2 stuffed chairs could have easily fit. One thing would keep me and girlfriends coming, to have at least a continental breakfast of some sorts. Also, enough to make a FULL pot of coffee!!!
