Hotel is clean, rooms are spacious. Overall a good value, but a bit out of the way depending upon which business district you are operating in.

Fabulous Hotel

We had a fantastic stay over Easter weekend. The hotel is in an excellent location with super easy access to the subway. The room was very nice; we were on the 14th floor with an awesome city view. Make sure to get the cucumber and lemon ice water in the lobby to refresh you after a day of touring around the city. The hotel is excellent, but the best part of our stay was definitely the staff. From the check in, everyone was friendly, helpful, and had a smile. Jean Luc is a wonderful bell hop who we got to know pretty well on the elevator, the entrance, and the bar. Don't miss the cocktails in Sable, the bar. They're pricey, but worth EVERY PENNY!!!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Instead of costly cabs, use the subway on State/Grand. A 7 day unlimited pass is only $28, and a 3 day is about $14. A cab ride for 2 anywhere costs at least $10 with a tip. We got 7 day passes even though we were only there 5 days. (You can use it to get to either airport as well!)

Great hotel in a convenient location

Rooms and staff are phenomenal. The business center arrangements are fairly awful though. I was charged almost $30 to print a few simple documents.

Just perfect

We only stayed one night. The room was great. The location was within walking distance to everything as long as the ladies in your party weren't in uncomfortable shoes. Just a pleasent experience with great staff.

Affordable, Modern Comfort

The Palomar was great. The rooms were priced fairly, but unfortunately, parking is not included with the package. Parking is available across the street with Bed, Bath, and Beyond, or with the Marriott hotel, but it will cost you $39-$42/day. The Palomar will valet park you car for $48/day + tips. I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and ended up paying over $150 in parking (a full day's fees charged if you park for over 4 hours, but less than 24, so shopping, eating, sightseeing, etc.).

LOVED THE PALOMAR HOTEL

We lucked up and got a "choice" corner room, which was even larger than the original one. The service was excellent from start to finish. Chic, but yet had a comfortable, welcoming feel. Don't have one bad thing to say! Would highly recommend to anyone.

Explore Chicago

This is a great, affordable boutique hotel in a very central location of Chicago. The rooms are well designed (with the exception of the bathroom doors, which can not be fully closed, but the hotel management is currently fixing that) and very clean with extraordinarily comfortable beds. We also enjoyed the view of the city from our room on the 14th floor. The gym is fantastic, equipped with brand new Precor machines, including ellipticals, adaptive motion trainers, treadmills, stationary bikes (all with TV monitors), a Concept 2 PM 4 rowing ergometer, weights, medicine and swiss balls. There is enough room to do stretching and floor exercises, and the place is superclean. We did not use the pool, which is indoors, but it seemed long enough for lap-swimming, and was adjacent to the rooftop terrace where one can bake in the sun to dry off, or just sit and read. The staff was very helpful and overall extremely friendly. The hotel has a restaurant and bar, where they serve delicious food, although it's a bit pricey. In the morning free coffee is served in the "living room" for three hours, and in the afternoon there is a wine-tasting hour. From the hotel you can easily walk to the magnificent mile, Millenium park, and also to boat tours and bike rental places. We really enjoyed our 5-day stay at the Palomar and would recommend it highly to other travelers.
