Omni- my new favorite hotel!
Capecod40 Nov 9, 2009
Our vacation was planned around the American Girl experience as a pre-graduation present for my daughter who is going into ... Middle School next year- last time to truly celebrate the 'little girl'! Our experience at the Omni was more than wonderful! I signed up for the Gold Membership services-free! We received such pampering with complimentary beverage service each morning and newspaper(though I neglected to let the front desk know I was a member the first day, so no coffee the first morning). My daughter received cookies and milk the first night and loved feeling special. The staff would go out of their way to answer any questions and gave great recommendations for dining experiences. We didn't dine at the hotel, since there were so many other places to try, and the prices seemed steep. Breakfast must- Yolk across from Grant Park. Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock building- fine dining, and Giordano's for the deep dish pizza!

Fawlty Towers
Weekend shopper Nov 1, 2009
My family has dubbed the Omni in Chicago "Fawlty Towers" because there always seems to be something wrong. This time our room ... was right above the kitchen and the odor of cooking grease wafted through our bedroom all night long. It smelled like a greasy spoon restaurant and it permeated all of our clothing. The bedroom window was bolted shut, so we couldn't get any fresh air into the room. With the amount that the Omni is charging for a room, they should have a much better ventilation system.

Great Labor Day Weekend
Becky - Improv Mom Sep 8, 2009
My son and I spent the long Labor Day weekend in Chicago. The Omni offered a central location with easy walk or short cab ... ride to everything. The only negative I have is the strong chlorine smell on the 5th floor (that's where the pool is located). I could smell the chlorine in our room (which was on the 5th floor). Housekeeping tidies up the room twice a day, so we always came back to a clean room. Staff were very friendly and more than ready to assist with any needs or answer any questions.

This was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at in a long time. Staff went out of their way to assist with directions, ... dinner reservations, tour suggestions, and how to navigate around Chicago. The room was spotless and the maid service was friendly and always asked if we needed anything. Restaurant was good and had a nice view of the city streets for people watching while you unwound from the day.

we usually visit chicago once a year for my daughters birthday in october. there were no vending machines in the hall ways. ... Nor have we ever had to pay for breakfast before. Even if its just bagels and donuts. We usually stay out by O'hare. This year we went 4th of july week because my youngest daughter just graduated college and wanted to visit her sister for her grad. present. Very polite staff. very knowledgeable about just about anything you could ask. they even look up restaraunts that are open after midnight so your child that came in late could have something to eat.

Great for a weekend get-a way. Location on Mag Mile perfect for shopping or dinning. All suites which are "cozy", but very ... clean and nicely appointed. I found only 2 draw backs for the hotel, first the valet parking was way too expensive at $49.00 per day and second the mini fridge could not hold any food that we took back to room. Would absolutely stay again!
